My wet/dry vac finally gave out today... Has been making a funny noise for a couple weeks and today it started to have a really funny, burning smell coming out of it. Almost 3 years of service I think is pretty good though.

It was only a 3.5hp and now it`s time to upgrade.

What size vac do you all use? I know most people use wet/dry vacs but do any of you use any other vacs that have a lot of power but don`t take up as much room to haul around?

I have a small orek (sp?) vac I`m using right now but it is far from enough power for doing vehicles. Need to get something soon.

I use this vacuum: Click Here!

It makes for a GREAT extractor for wet floor mats and carpeting after you scrub clean. Just remove the filter.

The suction is AMAZING. I bought a set of smaller end pieces for little cracks and crevices between seats, etc...

The detachable blower is good for getting all the water out of tight places and the engine.

The only fault is its size when it comes to being portable.

But, I can fit it in my Honda Civic DX when I go onsite. I put it in the front seat like a passenger! :p

I currently use Ridgid 12 gal/5hp wet/dry vac. It`s really good but a little bulky for detailing.

What brand was the one that died ?

When mine dies, I`m getting this one. It`s smaller, but seems to have a lot of power...

I have that same one and its really nice. Its kinda like the motor of the big vacs, but in a small case. I dont see a need for large storage capacity for a mobile detailer any ways. Unless maybe you did 3+ full interiors a day and you had zero time to empty it out ever :nixweiss

Intel486, if you like your Sensei, you`ll appreciate the Fein Mini turbo

I just got it 2 weeks ago. Quiet and powerful. A little pricey, but I appreciate GOOD tools.

Get the hose extension and/or the Vac Step Adaptor. I now have a 26` hose, with 90" water lift! Awesome
