Do you usually go to the customers house and do your work there or do you do it out of your house?

Depends on what they want. I`d prefer to detail at my house, surrounded by all my stuff, but I do plenty of on site detailing too.
There are only three things you need to know about me. Gloss, Gloss, GLOSS!!

I do perfer my house because i just never know what i might need. I could probably fit all my stuff in my car but you just never know. The last few jobs i did at my house but the owners (which i know personally) didnt have any other ride so we just kinda trade vehicles for the day (they get to drive the 800$ celica )

I guess you just kinda have to do what the customer wants.

This is why I go to the customer. I have all of my products in the trailer and there is no need to trade cars for the day. I just schedule with the customer wherever he/she may be.

But what is the best way to "convince" people to drop their car off at your house?

For regular customers I go to them.

If they`re friends of mine and I`m giving them a discount, then they`re coming over to my house just to make it easier on me.

Very rarely do a customer come to me. I normally go to them - home or office. There has been about three occasions due to particular situations where the customer dropped their vehicles off at my home.

If someone offers to bring their car to me I surely accept the offer, but I always tell everyone that I will come to them.

OK, so then do you just work straight through 4-8 hours of the detail? What about food, bathroom or rest breaks when you`re at a customers house?

I detail at home in my 2 car attached garage. All my "stuff" is in one location, the kitchen and bathroom are just a few feet away...

For bathroom breaks... go before you leave, lol. If I`m at an office building, then they usually have restrooms you can use. I don`t think I`d ever ask at someone`s house.

For drinks I carry an ice chest. I also carry some different foods with me. Crackers, Gold Cup Bars, etc.

For a break you can go chill in your truck for 10 or so mins but I rarely do that. I usually want to get the heck out of there especially when it`s super hot out or freezing cold.
