I`m starting my mobile business next week. Everything is ready to go almost.

Just wondering, what do you guys do as far as getting your money?

Do customers pay upfront or after? Has anyone ever had a problem with people refusing to pay?

Also, if you are detailing the customer`s vehicle when they aren`t there (i.e. they are at work) how do you get your money from them? Scottwax you out there? I believe you said before that you do customer`s vehicles while they are working alot.

    Thanks everyone,

    My customers pay after.

Never had trouble with them not paying but then again I never had an unhappy customer. I`m sure if you detail enough cars your bound to get a moron or two that doesnt wanna pay for some stupid reason or another.

Robert-am I out there? In the daytime on a sunny day? Not hardly! Today was a good day, I didn`t get to my computer until after 9 PM.

Most of my customers pay me after I finish but I have a few who prefer to pay for several weekly washes in advance so I can come out, clean their car then bounce without waiting on them.

Mine usually pay up front, then go do their thing, or right after, have never had a problem.....

I have this customer who pulls up a chair and watches every single thing I do during the WHOLE detail. So once I am done he pulls the money out of his pocket and I`m on my way.

It`s quite a weird feeling having someone watch you for hours. I know this was off topic, I just had to share it.

I`ve had customers do that too. They come out and watch you work. I don`t really mind unless they talk the whole time.

That REALLY bothers me too..I dont mind answering a few questions here and there or if they like to watch no problem...but the people that feel as though they have to entertain me while im working. :grrr, drives me insane.

Oh yeah to answer your question-I get paid after I am done and the customer does a walk around the vehicle with me, never had any problems...cause I still got the keys till the money comes over
