Detailing can be a difficult jobs. We deal with tough swirls and customers on a nearly daily basis. But there is a special sector of people that make things easier

This thread is for you to nominate that product owner or employee that has gone above and beyond to exceed your expectations.

You can nominate them for a product that saves you time or makes you money. You can nominate because they helped with product knowledge or a method of instruction.

You can nominate someone because they are able to elevate detailing into an art form, with their work flowing clean lines over asphalt.

I personally can not thank the multitude of Professionals in this site that share their knowledge with us, at no expense. You all are truly unsung heroes, and this thread is dedicated to you.

My first nomination goes out to Dr. David Ghodoussi of Optimum polymer technologies. He had consistently been one of the most helpful and responsive owners of a product line that I have dealt with.

It is amazing that you can call Opt and get either David or Ron. Let me just say that Ron is very helpful and knowledgeable also. To me, it is amazing that an owner of a popular company such as Opt had the time or the desire to answer the phone and deal directly with me.

He had even taken the time to take my order over the phone. Before you say, "it`s because he is trying to sell you something." let me say that my small orders are nothing in respect to his company size, yet I STILL get personal treatment from him.

You sir deserve this nomination, not only for your innovation and knowledge base, but also for the way that you handle yourself and your business.

I had a problem with a product, it was replaced with no questions. Well, it was one question... They asked to verify the shipping address. This is the type of service that makes a hard day much easier.

    Many thanks for your work.

My second nomination, and reason for this thread is Kevin from Buff daddy. Com. I have been doing over the 21mm throw of a rupes for well over a month. The combination of several 50/50 shots of rupes use, along with me running into severely hard clear coat on an Rv, made me had to have one.

I wanted to go with the guy with the washer mod, as I have heard that it flows much easier. Sure, I could do it myself.... But I am investing in the knowledge of the guy who made the washer mod

Every other place was out for weeks, and I need one yesterday.

Needless to say, Kevin helped me out. He helped me more than I could imagine.

What a way to come through in the clutch. You sir are nominated for being a product knowledge frontrunner, along with going the extra step to see a customer satisfied.

Little actions like that go far in winning my business, for life.

Thank you. You are a detailer that makes me proud to be in the same industry as you.

While I probably will never take up machine sanding, your articles and instructions might lead me through adding a new skill set to my portfolio. You, are a delight to work with (so far). I have to disclose that while this was my first dealing with buff daddy,

In order of how they helped me along the way.

    `

#1 Todd Helme- so much help with all things detailing. He would beat me down, "Do great work and charge more!!!" One day Todd tell me about this guy who has a new way of polishing paint. Todd talks me thru it while I`m polishing paint on a JB M3, looked great. Wipe it down with IPA again and again, it wont come back, Todd says. Who the hell told you of this method Todd? Oh his name is Kevin Brown, call him. Nicest guy you will ever talk to, just be prepared to realize you dont know ```` about polishing paint.

    `

#2 Kevin Brown aka the mad scientist of paint polishing. Todd was right, first time I talked to him...I dont know a damn thing. This guy is crazy (in a good way) Try this, try that, stand on your head, bark like a dog... If he told me to do that today, I would. Best thing about Kevin is he gets you to think, dont be afraid to try things!!!`

    `

#3 David Fermani-When ownership of this place changed, it seemed like it had no direction. David came along and changed all that. "Autopia is here to help you grow your business" David said...and it has.`

    Thank you guys!`

I would say Todd Cooperider (business, shop talk, future plans talk), JC of detaileddesigns (business, shop talk), barry theal (shop talk, product talk - HD speed), and my clients are the ones who have helped me the most!!!` Jose has helped me on numerous jobs when time was of the essence, and money was a factor on the job (as in client only had X amount to spend but wanted Y price job, two people help make that possible, although I make less a little than desired, the client is happy in the end, and that is my goal).

    `

There are a lot of people whom I will not mention who I have learned are on the shady side of things and I will no longer EVER acknowledge for being a positive influence.` Taking pics of a fully corrected fender, but just 1 stepping the rest of the car and moving the car for "different paint correction shots" (so there is a different background in the same panel) and calling it a full correction on high end cars, those who use fillers for their correction yet call it "good enough" or "the owner will never know and you get done 2-3 hours earlier", those who use "105 and a orange pad for a one step", those who call a D300/MF pad followed by a wax a "two step", those who claim they did the work themselves but had 5 other people on the job helping, those who claim the job is for free and looking for volunteers to help out only to get other paying jobs because they did the free job...There are two sides to most people that most people do not know about!` You would be surprised if names started dropping!

Wow...this thread would be the same as dropping me in the Hershey Chocolate World and picking which candy was my favorite.
