As some may know, I`m a Soldier (a US Army Chaplain to be exact). "Car Washes" are common ways that units raise money for their family programs. However, as a detailer (even one as bad as I am) I generally cringe when I see what they do to cars. Got me thinking, wouldn`t it be great to teach Soldier`s how to detail and involve that in a fund raiser. Soldier`s (especially young ones) tend to spend a lot of money on their cars relative to everybody else (housing and food generally taken care of ).

If you live near a base, might be something to consider some time

    Thanks for looking,

    Tony

Actually, no, I didn`t know that...thanks for your service, and I`m certain you are of great help to those you work with.

And yeah, that`s a great suggestion.

That is a great suggestion. I already try to educate my customers about proper car care. I wonder if Fort Worth NAS would be open to something like that? Wouldn`t mind spending a few Sundays teaching the men and women there how to take care of their cars.

I don`t know anybody there Scottwax. In general, if you can find a contact for a Family Readiness Group (FRG) they will be your best bet. Getting a notice put up on the Single Soldier Quarters/Barracks might also be a good way to gauge interest.
