Why almost no professional detailers use Zaino?

I was just wondering why almost no pro detailers use Zaino as their last step product? Is it because of efficiency or the product is simply not that good?

Optiseal, UPGP, BFWD are a few I have used as far as LSPs in the looks and ease of use departments. I have had very poor results with Zaino as far as protection from the elements, so that list gets even wider if you take that into consideration.

Price and ease of use. They are expensive, do not come in bulk packaging and they can be very fickle (from what I`m told).

:werd: Not to mention the last thing I want to do after several hours of polishing is play junior chemist mixing stuff and then spending another 2 hours putting on 3 layers of an LSP with Z6 in between each application-especially since I the payoff isn`t worth the extra time and product. Based on using Zaino numerous times, I can`t justify charging a customer extra for a more involved LSP process when I don`t see the benefit in looks or protection.



I can see how it appeals to the hobbyist who likes to spend all weekend working on their car though.

Still use it here for at least 80% of my clients.



I have tried some of the above mentioned products and they don`t last as long as zaino.



It only takes me 27.59 seconds to play master chemist. It surely does not take 2 hours to apply 3x. My usual routine is too apply 2x followed by Z8. If you sat on your a$$ while waiting 10-15 mins or so for a coat to cure, it might take 2 hours.



I apply the first coat.

Then apply Z-16 to the tires.

Remove first coat and apply second.

Apply ZAIO to wheels or clean glass.

Remove second coat and apply Z8

Maybe 1 hour.



When a client does not want a full correction detail and elects to have a one step machine polishing, I do the following:



ZAIO via r/o and a white pad.

Coat of Z2pro

Z8



Some detailers find it hard to demand premium prices for their services.



ZAIO followed by Z8 will outlast 95% of the waxes on the market. It is super easy by hand or machine.

I use Zaino. In fact I just cleaned my car up a bit and used ZAIO.



One can easily polish, zaio and z2/z5 the car. With the exception of FK1 #1000 I haven`t seen anything last as long as Zaino.

Ive never used Zaino because it sounded too complicated to me - I am a Carnauba guy.



Alot of people love Zaino but it always seemed like a comlicated gimmick to me.



To each their own.



I would rather use a Collinite wax for durability and ease of use.

While Zaino does work well for several of the detailers out there, and it`s durability is top notch, it has always been too fussy for me. Working on my own car is one thing, working on a clients car that needs to be done in a set amount of time is another. Fussy simply does not work for me. I want a wax/sealant that is easy to use and will deliver solid results every time no mater what the conditions are. BFWD has proven to be one of those products, the new Menzerna Power Lock has also been very good so far.



The majority of the people I see using Zaino are car enthusiasts who really haven`t had the chance to try out a lot of other products. Nor have they ever actually compared them side by side with something else. They simply were told Zaino is the best and that`s that. Most simply don`t yet understand that 95% of the look is from the polishing and not the wax/sealant. While Zaino is still one of the most durable out there, IMO many others have surpassed it in ease of use and slickness. That and I like being able to see where my wax is on the car...Zaino has to be put on so thin you can`t even see where it is half the time.





Just to note, I do like and frequently use ZAIO, Z6, Z8, Z9, and Z10. Z2 and Z5 are simply not my cup of tea.

Polishing and sealing paint should be a simple process. Zaino seems to make it overly complicated. It is geared more toward the enthusiast who likes to spend his whole weekend polishing and sealing his car. I have never really compared Zaino pricing to what I use professionally, but I would imagine it is more expensive. I have found products that are both cost effective, and flat out perform. I really comes down to what works best for you, not what others like or are using.

Here we go again with all the Zaino myths. I find it no more difficult than any other LSP out there.



Sure there are a few products like BFWD that go on and come off a little easier, minimal at best but it is at the expense of durability. Durability is one of my #1 concerns especially on my daily drivers which is why I always end up back with Zaino.



And yes, I have tried just about everything on the market and do agree that there are a lot of great products out there such as SN, BFWD, SV Concorso and a million other moderate to expensive nuba`s. They all have their own strengths and weaknesses but in the end I find Zaino has more of the qualities I need. Right now 1/2 my cars have Zaino or some type of sealant on them and the other half usually have a nuba. Variety is the spice of life but if I had to choose one, well, you know what it would be. :2thumbs:
