I never use ZAIO or Z-CS and don`t use ZFX or Z8 too often. People like to apply multiple coats, but it`s not required. I think people enjoy layering it because it`s so easy to do and it doesn`t smell all that bad either.

Yes, it has a special audience associated with it, but why? Besides what I mentioned, can anyone tell me why people who like Zaino like it so much? What`s the rationale, especially if the product isn`t that good per se?

Zaino has excellent durability but the slickness compared to Blackfire is not even close. To each his own. Polish the vehicle and do whatever you want and the car will look great.

I really like BF too, but doesn`t the slickness attribute come from the silicone oil?

I couldn`t tell you. I just know I get a solid 3-4 months out of a daily driver and even weeks down the road, it still stays cleaner longer and has a nice feel to it after 6-8 weeks. I have Zaino, just only use it when customers request it. The only time people clients request it are the Corvette guys and sometimes the older model BMW guys.

I wonder if in 2020 someone will be like hey, do you have any Blackfire Sealant? I hear it use to be awesome.

I still use it on occasion, but with so many LSP`s on my self it isn`t my first pick.

But there are certain colors and customers that warrant it.

This customers car LSP process went like this. Z2 (pic below).

    Next appointment ZAIO+Z5,

    Next appointment PS + OS

Next appointment EZ-Creme Glaze and 476.

Customer wants Z2 back and I think it looked the best, plasticy or not. And no he didn`t know it was Zaino.

IMO, it beads for a really long time, if that is what you are after, then its perfect. The looks drop off faster than BFWD and when I was using it (up to 2005/6) I was getting water spot etching and bird bomb etching, the kind that had to be polished out. I don`t have those isssues with carnauba, the Collinites, Megs, OPT stuff or BFWD. I don`t need something that beads water for 6+ months, I need something that protects my paint.

I used to use zaino before the pro version came out and was never a fan of the plastic look. i hear now that it mimics a nuba closer, i have a sample bottle sitting on my desk just waiting for me to polish out my wifes mdx and trying out again.

it sure is tough to beat that bfwd but another member on a forum surprisingly had longer durability w/ zaino than bfwd during pollen season so we`ll see

Maybe the question should be why not are more detailers using Collinite? Zaino has that premium name...Collinite is cheaper and no marketing frills...mixing time: zero seconds.

I have customers that request Zaino explicitly. Most of the time I just apply a layer of Z2 and let it cure whilst doing other things and then go over it with some Z6. I`ve never used Z8 or Z-CS. I had ZFX at one time but I didn`t use it frequently enough and it gelled up on me. Sal made good and replaced it though. Customer service is top notch for certain.

Now I want to go slap some Zaino on my car.

If I had to guess why more `pro` detailers don`t use it, I might guess price per application even though a 15 dollar bottle of Z2 will do `up to 24 cars` if you use it as directed. That`s less than an ounce per application. (62c per application). I would imagine there are some carnauba waxes that range in the pennies per application.

I`ve been spreading the word. The emails I have gotten from Collinite have been very encouraging when it comes to helping get the name out. They like the personal examples and spread-the-word marketing. As far as protection, I love Collinite!

Aside from the many factors already mentioned, how about this:

My Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant accomplishes equal looks and durability in 2 steps: Apply, then remove.

Zaino accomplishes said looks with about 17 steps. First use the z93 polish, then use the z48 polish maximizer juice. Then apply the z32 swirl hider polish stuff. Then mix in the z17 activator droplets. Then spray the z15 gloss spray, then apply the wax, then apply another z15 in between...

I have used both, and I don`t see any benefit (whether it be related to cost, time, apperance, etc.) that Zaino`s chemistry-gimmic system affords over the many awesome alternatives.

I find it amusing how so many people have such hatred towards Wax! Come on people, this is just wax. I`d be afraid to go into work tomorrow and explain to my boss that I argued about wax. You either like Zaino or you don`t. I say we get over it and move on......
