I need to find a small diameter size fiberglass spot sanding pen. I have a 3m 1/4" one but I am finding it sands off a larger area of paint than I need. Griot`s Garage used to sell a finer one, but they no longer carry it or could give me any info on who makes it.

I have multiple tiny rock chips (~2mm) on which rust has set in. I want to properly remove it before primer and touchup paint.

If anyone has any suggestions on where I might find something like this, or even alternatives (no idea if there`s a dremel attachment that would be gentle enough?) I would really appreciate it.

I was looking for one as well and went to hobbytown USA and picked one made by Badger Air Brush Co. It`s not as fine tipped as I remember the Griot`s one beiong but when I was searching online I read that you could file down the end to make the tips smaller to get into smaller areas. I think I saw it on Langka`s website... their`s looks the same as the one from 3M and a few other companies that sell it.

Since I just picked mine up today I haven`t tried it yet.

I have two sizes, one being like the ProPen and the other being the little one that Griot`s sells (or at least used to sell). The little one is what I use most of the time.

Do an internet search on "Micromark". It`s a modeling/hobby tool catalog, they sell both sizes and also have refills.

I`d get lots of refills as I seem to go through them very fast.

Thanks for the lead. I`ll check in to them for the smaller pen

Cut a small piece of sandpaper and stick it to the eraser end of a pencil.
I do mobile detailing for friends and family. Might not be the absolute best, but I do it for free.

That can work very well, and you can use whatever grit is appropriate.

Much larger than the pens though, especially the smaller one.
