I know SIP is very strong and has lots of potential for swirl removal, ect.
What about wetsanding marks? 1500-2000 grit?
plan to apply via rotary w/ LC purple wool pad

I`ve had no problems using SIP and an orange LC CCS pad on 2000 grit on up. Haven`t been below 2000 in a long time, so can`t tell you beyond that.
I would not consider SIP strong, 3M ECC and M105 are strong. SIP is a medium cut polish, like said above 2K is about its limit.
