I`m not sure if your clients will appreciate having a hole in their lawn due to the sign but it`s a really great idea. Why not opt for something that won`t have you stab it into the ground?

    On clients` lawns?

Please don`t do that. I would be incensed if someone was advertising on my lawn or in front of my house, unless it`s stuff on someone`s car or something.

Put a bumper sticker up, put a sticker on the window, put a sticker somewhere, but don`t put it on someone`s lawn, or in general anywhere on the house. If you detail, detail. If you`re campaigning, campaign. It`s a bad idea to mix personal politics with business and it`s wortse to associate someone else with your politics.

Every customer will take it in a different light so I think that the best way would be to ask them before putting up the sign. The best that they`ll do is direct you to a spot where you can post it up without being bothered by the hole it left.

Some people can be really anal to an excessive point and you wouldn`t want pissing them off.

Why not try a sign with a tripod at the bottom? Like the tripod that comes with halogens?

If you`re talking about real "Vote for [whomever] " political signs, I`d sure get the client`s permission first! If somebody put a sign for [the, uhm.. other candidate ] up on *my* property I`d be, uhm.. [one very irate individual] .
