I know a few of you run your businesses with your detailers as Independent Contractors. I`m just looking for a little info and feedback from those of you that do and how well it works for you. I have a possible business idea I want to throw out there but I want to hear a little discussion first.

Hmmm...Hourly detailers are underpaid enough as it is. Now, they`re going to lose their EI?

Sorry, no experience with employees so no relevant business expertise to offer in this area.

Is a delearship outsourcing its detailing of just arriving cars to you or are they outsourcing the running the detail service out of their shop? Or something else completely?

Currently... both. But I am considering hiring a couple employees and I know some of the guys with larger shops ran it like an auto service shop. Owner runs the building and management stuff while the mechanics `rent` their stalls, per se. Sure, maybe not the greatest of analogies, but this is what I wanted to discuss.

All my people were sub-contractors. It`s the best way for owner & detailer. There`s too much info to list. PM me your # if you want the low down.
