Still a newb here but you just wait! Gumball will be on this list next year! LOL! A Pro that for some reason even after 17 years of doing this I still learn something new at least once a week!

Scottwax would be my pick! Very talented, great write ups and advice!

Didn`t someone make a special wash applicator with grout spounge fingers?

Yeah, there is supposedly a Shmitt made from a grout sponge, although it looked suspiciously like just a different Edge pad (from the other Edge pads used for the other Shmitts). I understand they are coming out with a microfiber Shmitt, followed by a special-edition one made from Corinthian leather...I`ve found a new Shmitt use--in the shower, it stays on my hand and holds a lot of suds...

WAIT! You use a GS?? I have a sample of the GS Shmitt. Not a bad product but a solution without a problem IMO. My thoughts were/are that it would be tough to get someone to pay more than $2 for one.

Pat, yes. OWNED! I`ll likely start a thread on that thing.

I`ve been using them for years. That`s why I was shocked as to see how many people wanted to start using them and are using them. I guess to me it was a cheap but very effective over looked tool. I never would have thought it would have been such a big hit.

Hey, I did mention Joe (aka Superior Shine). You said you were selling your business so I figured you were out or getting out at the time.

You know I respect your detailing and business talents, Jim. :wavey

So, here we are, writing in the Professional Forum. How many of the Professionals mentioned have taken the time to attend Barrett-Jackson, SEMA, NXTi, NAPDR, MTE, let alone actually host nationally sponsored seminars for enthusiasts?

How many of the Professionals mentioned actually generate substantial gross revenue ($200K+)?

I don`t care that I`m not mentioned, as I don`t accept the criteria. Posting images on `Click and Brag` (no matter how extensive) can`t possibly be your criteria... please!

If the `pro` is really working, then he does not have the time or incentive to truly (and frequently) document everything he does.

My business cooks - I write this, not from Carmel, IN, but Napa Valley Wine Country - a 5 day vacation that I can justify in February.

Bitter? No, actually sorta leathery, with a hint of tannin, and a dash of maturity.

I`m with Scott, I thought you were quitting.

One can go to school all his life and take as many classes as he can stand and still be plain dumb. The amount of money made doesn`t tell that a person is professional or not but only that he has done more work. IIRC, you have a *team* of people working for you. That doesn`t make you professional either that just means that you have some guys to tell what to do and they do it. What *does* make you professional is running a profitable business in a proper way and delivering quality results that please your customers. I worked shoulder to shoulder with you and fully respect what you do and have done. Ease up on the little guys that turn out a car or two a week.

OK, I think there are a lot of really great detailers on this board. But, I`ve got to say that David Fermini, Grouse, Scottwax, Accumulator, Brandon1 and the Florida all-stars Todd and Brian have helped me get the understanding of detailing that I have today.

    Thanks guys!

Been using the gouge sponge over 25 yrs now, a old friend who use to detail on the side told me about this and i always have one with me! God bless him (KIA in Grenada) i was with him that day. I`m always glad to see great information posted so everyone can learn and pickup some more ideals to help each other out!:usa .........
