    Greetings All,

I had purchased 2 VX 5000 units 3 yrs ago one for my wife at home... she loves it, the other for my business Crime/Trauma Scene Cleanup. These machines are excellent for any and all cleaning. I have several vids on my website as well as on youtube and myspace of these machines in action.

You can not go wrong with these machines, a gr8 investment.

    I highly recommend them,

    David O`Brien

I too am considering the VX5000. The VX5000 website makes a pretty convincing argument about being satisfied with their product. It seems to me though that the Kleenjet (Daimer) is a much more substantial company, with a very extensive product line.

I will be using the units for residential auto use and home applications (especially grout & tile cleaning).

Any opinions on the VX5000 vs the Kleenjet 200s would be appreciated.

My 1500C rocks. Daimer has excellent Customer/Technical Service and provides the following on all KleenJet models....

1 (one) year warranty on the unit (parts and labor), 3 (three) years warranty on the unit (parts), lifetime boiler warranty.

    Pretty decent.

While I don`t recommend the steamers for leather, they seem to work well for the rest of the vehicle.

I have a Daimer and agree with their customer service. I have their least expensive model that they no longer carry. It had a problem with a thermal resistor and they sent me a new part asap for free.

I tried ordering a VX 5000 from Steve Clingan on a Monday and he was supposed to ship it out that morning. After speaking with him he told me that it should be arriving the very next day so when I called to ask him where it was he claimed that he forgot to ship it. He then stated that he would ship it the very next day and would send me a tracking number the first thing in the morning which never happened. I tried several attempts to reach him via email and phone but was never able to confirm my order. From everything I had read on the Internet this guy Steve was the man to deal with but lucky me, I get to deal with this guy on his bad day or something.

Can you explain a little about why you do not recommend steam cleaning of leather ? I`m looking at the VX5000 and it seems cleaning of leather seats is what most detailers are doing. I will be starting to do appointment only details when I retire this year. I would like to offer a interior package and was considering a steamer to compliment my arsenal of detailing equipment.

It has been several years now since this thread was started. How has the durability been of the steamers you are using? Would you buy them again?

    All replies appreciated!!

My Daimer 1500C is still working fine, though it doesn`t get the kind of use that a Pro would put it though.

    Daimer 1500C here as well.

I`ve used the steamer many times per week for five years and have not been disappointed in the slightest. We`ve used it on everything from interior details to undercarriage cleaning on 80 year old vehicles with great efficiency.

The most fragile part of the machine is the hose which is starting to break down at both connections. Admittedly, we haven`t treated it extremely well in the way it was stored while in the back of my van. I`ll try harder to take care of the replacement hose...

It`s definitely a moderate investment but it`s super versatile and has very high quality construction.

So the Daimer 1500C is the preferred unit? I have been thinking about purchasing the VX5000...

I don`t know what I`d do without my steamer.... Dupray Hill Injection has served me very well since I upgraded into it at the beginning of the year.

I was considering the vx-5000 or the upgraded hose model that Renny Doyle, Attention to details sells.

Good to hear that these heavier duty units, such as the Daimer 1500C and the Dupray Hill Injection are holding up well.

Others with long term experience with there own steamer feel free to chime in here. Knowing that others have had multiple year experience with a steamer in heavy use would make the substantial purchase easier to make knowing that the durability is there.

    Thank You!
