ok i quite new to this stuff but i was wondering. How do you tell if a car has a clear coat? you see my sister smashed the front of her car and instead of taking it to a good body shop she took it to maccao. I know i know. I have detailed it a couple of times for her but it just does not seem like there is a clear coat on it. the car is white if that changes anything. Thanks for all your help.

When you see the color of the paint transfer over to the polishing cloth, then there is no clear coat.

When you are working with a clear coat, you will not see the color of the paint transfer over to the polishing cloth.
