Well Im closing up shop and no longer taking details past August 10th. I move in to college the 17th and class starts the 21st. Its been a good 3.5 years. I still offered my more loyal customers some services when I come back in, but no more detailing for me on a regular basis.

You can always do it in the summers when you come home, that`s what I do.

I plan on it during summer and extended breaks, but no longer a full time gig for me. Just to make money on the side.

You could probably do details on weekends at your college. Just a thought....

I dont know how easily I could get a brand new clientele going. And moving/storing supplies would be difficult.

Beason- Sounds like you had a good run, hope you have a similarly good experience at college. IMO (noting that I taught at the local U) you`ll be busy enough just concentrating on your studies.

In college the weekends are for being hungover, IMO. Same with the weekdays too I guess...

Just bring your buffer, pads, polishes and waxes and offer exterior details to your fellow students. Do 3-4 on a Saturday and you`d have a nice chunk of spending money the rest of the week. Probably more money and less time than getting a part time job.

Im afraid it`ll be hard to find college kids wanting to spend money on cleaning their car instead of a nice case of beer.

Bingo. Unless you are willing to run extremely cheap, I would at least try to find some older clients (maybe... professors?). :hifive:

your first year id say not to bring the stuff (dorm living and all) but for subsequent years you will be able to detail on weekends and during the week. Im sure you can find a decent amount of people willing to use your services

But what about the professors, faculty and staff? Are you going to a big name university with highly paid teachers?

    Good luck in your studies!!!
