A lot of the car shows around here have "goddy bags" for contestants, they are full of pencils, pens, frisbees, etc. It`s all donated and consists of whatever the sponsors of the show will give out. I am going to order a bunch of 2 oz sample bottles from USplastics (anyone now of any place cheaper?) and fill them with a bulk sealant which I will either buy from CG or purchase locally. I will put my business name on the bottle with all of my contact info, website, etc. The idea is not to sell the product, but rather promote my business. I am thinking of using the line of "sample *provided* by .....detailing."

    Thoughts?

How many bottles need to be handed out to be a effective marketing tool? 500 -1000 + What is your cost for the finished product, sealant, bottle, logo, and (your labor)???

What do you expect as a return %?

Most shows around here would need about 100 bottles. The bottles should cost around $50, the sealant will cost about $35 or so, then my time. I will print the labels at work free of charge.

Return? Who knows, about 10% of the people who receive the bottle will actually call/visit the website?

I passed out almost 75 to a local event last year and was very disappointed with the response. Many of the "old dogs" were using products that were harmful at the event. I strolled the rows and suggested they use the spray I wad provided them with siting that it was pretty versatile both in application and uses. A few were curious about why or what the difference was but the majority just shrugged their shoulders or did their best to ignore me. :xyxthumbs

BTW, those are Monterey 16x16 and a 4ozer (6?) of CKQS.

You need a much larger test market then 75 to 100. Raise the odds and have a (Young Lady) pass out your samples!!!

I would pass out a shampoo or something. If the person is going to use the sealant they are probbaly the type of person that will wax their own cars anyway.

*Great* idea, would be cheaper as well. I could pass out an ounce of hyper wash.

BTW, the idea about the young lady is awesome, but these will be pre-packaged before the show.

I like the wash idea better, especially if its a notably good wash.
