Poorboy`s Beta Foam Soap V2 Review

I was selected to receive the second version of the upcoming foam soap from Poorboy`s. I got a chance to give it a preliminary spin tonight.

I used the product in a foam cannon with an electric PW. I only filled it up about halfway using warm water and 2oz of soap. The soap is a pretty thick consistency and I actually think my cannon gummed up a bit - this could be from last time I used it as there was a bit of soap leftover, so not a big deal. The soap smells very sweet - like bubblegum. It was not overwhelming when spraying like some other soaps I`ve tried, and it certainly smells better than Iron-X soap!

After foaming and rinsing I wiped the car down using Wolfgang Uber Rinseless at a waterless wash dilution since I didn`t feel like bringing out the buckets. I`ll let the pictures do some talking as well.

Here are some pictures of how dirty my car was. It had not been washed in two weeks and was subject to rain and storms every other day. I honestly can`t remember what my base layer of LSP is but I refresh it with Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer every other week.

Here is the foam as initially applied. It was about as thick as most soaps I`ve used. It ran off the car quite easily as well. As you`ll see from the pictures, this was actually a good thing because it took the dirt right along with it.



After a couple minutes...



Look at all that dirt! Now my absolute favorite feature of the soap is how fast it evaporates away from my driveway. I can`t tell you how many times I`ve foamed a car to come back later and have a pile of thick foam sitting in the driveway. This was after me performing a waterless wash:


Pretty cool, right? I didn`t do any kind of rinsing away of it. And of course, here`s the formerly dirty car:

Overall, the performance of the soap was very good for a foam soap. To be perfectly honest, I think you usually gain as much of a benefit from just a simple high pressure rinse as foaming a car down and doing all of that so I don`t often get my cannon out unless it`s for a client because they like seeing it and it makes it easy to brush in between bodylines and around emblems, etc. on cars that are in dire need of a full deep cleaning.

However, I would consider using foam more often if more soaps performed like this because of how little of a "mess" it made and how clearly effective it was at taking dirt with it upon the initial soak. I think I could tweak my dilutions and get an even thicker layer, which I will try since I have plenty left

Great review ... I hadn`t noticed the fact that it dissipates fairly quick ..thanks for pointing that out .. it is intended as a Pre-Wash and it was great to see it took dirt away with any agitation
