    Hi,

` I`ve been looking into continuing education in the detailing field and was considering attending Todd Cooperider`s class at Esoteric Auto Detail to familiarize myself with exotics and see what else I can pick up from him. Does anyone have feedback on how the after-training support is from Esoteric? I`ve heard great things about Renny`s continuing support after the training has ended, however, Renny is much further from me than Esoteric. Any further input/experiences on training in general would be great. Thanks.

I would put my money hands down on NXT training. The guys who wrote the book on detailing such as Kevin Brown run it. As far as I am concerned all others have a revision of the original knowledge there.

Agreed .Renny is a great guy. Go with people who are fully experienced with what they teach. Not some overpriced course that is led by someone with just a few years of actual hands on experience. There`s a lot more to learning this trade than just being taught how to make paint pretty and over-marketing yourself.`

I`d agree with the others, go where the real experience and knowledge is, not someone who`s only been detailing for about 6 years. I also wouldn`t get too caught up with the type of car. Paint is paint and people get too caught up with the whole exotic thing, but knowing how to adjust for substraite and panel shape is important.

Like Rasky said the exotic specific thing is bull````. Gloth is gloth. If you want to base your detailing career on bull```` and hype, be my guest. I highly recommend training like NXT and Kevin Brown aka buffdaddy.com go to his site and start reading.

The video link Rasky (Chad) posted IS the real deal. You can market yourself great but if you can`t produce you become nonsense in the industry.
It may work for a while but in the end you may fail. It is truly about foundation.

Okay, when`s the next class being held?

    `

I`m very interested in NXT after doing some more research. Thank you all for your input.

Well, that would be the only down side of NXTi is that they aren`t offered very often, as it`s not all about making money for them. It`s definitely worth the wait though!

    `

I would suggest contacting Kevin Brown and let him know your interested in taking his class. If he gets enough inquires/requests I`m sure they will find a way to hold another one.

There is much that has NOT been said lol…………….., the things I could add but will not. You want to really invest in yourself move past the hype and concentrate on superior skill set first then add the marketing and pic taking stuff.

    `

Customers want solutions to problems, if you cannot do this for them then they will look elsewhere. If you were willing to spend on the appearance of something look first at who produces the best work and who they associate with with proven results over many years.

Three days with Mr KBM will have you confused at first if you are not experienced, but a foundation to build on is needed and he can provide that.

Is there any particular reason to not go with Todd from Esoteric Detail?

Maybe I miss some things from the years I was away ... but back in the days, Todd has been awesome with me (especially since I am in Canada and communication is not that easy beside chatting on forum).

He even purchased some `exclusive` US products and shipped them to me without asking anything in return.

There are classes available from far more experienced professionals out there, many at a fraction of the cost....do you need more reason than that?
