Hey all!!
Today was a good day. :woot2: No minivans or luxury SUV`s...just a pair of well kept Corvette show queens!!!
Both belong to the same gentleman who has been a regular client of mine for about 2 years now. I usually detail these two Vette`s twice a year...once before the show season and once after. They are always garaged, covered and pampered with the owner maintaining them with Griot`s shampoo and Speed Shine. After the first time I detailed them in which they were clayed and deep polished all they will typically need when I come out is a light polish and an LSP...today was par for the course. Both had minimal swirls with more towel marks than anything else (no matter how hard I try to steer him away from it both Vettes still get "chamois dried"). :nixweiss
The `76 is a resto-mod and is in clean driver condition. Not a Bloomington Gold car by any means but a great "Sunday show" Vette with about 90K original miles on the chasis. It`s a factory 4-speed car with a warmed over 350c.i. motor (heads, cam, intake...etc.). The `00 has an internally stock motor with an intercooled Magnacharger and full exhaust. Through the factory 4-speed automatic transmission the car puts about 420 ponies down to the rear tires. Below are products and process for both cars.
Enjoy,
Mike
`76 Stingray:
Wash with Meg`s Gold Class shampoo
Polish/glaze with Clearkote`s Vanilla Moose using a Meg`s 8006 pad with my PC set at 5.
Seal with Pinnacle`s Souveran paste wax by hand with a foam pad.
`00 `Vert:
Wash with Meg`s Gold Class shampoo
Polish with Klasse AIO using a Meg`s 8006 pad with my PC set at 5-6. I applied the AIO a section at a time and used a MF dampened with water to remove.
Seal with Wolfgang`s Deep Gloss Paint Sealant using a Meg`s 9006 pad with my PC set at 4. I let the product set on the paint for about 30 minutes before removing.
Both cars had their tires and wells dressed with AA, the exterior glass has been VM`d and the rims were sealed with Meg`s #20.
