PC speed settings...
Hello all:
Here`s a question I don`t believe I have seen posted here before (or if it was, it was long ago...).
Every procedure I read about concerning using the PC involves having it set between 3.5 and 4. Well, I use mine on 5 and it works a helluva lot better. I am just wondering the reasoning behind suggesting that the thing be set to 3.5 to 4 most of the time. I can understand keeping it there if the compound you are using is relatively aggressive, but if it`s not....I say crank it up! :)
Opinions or comments?

lol i don`t konw if i`ve had my pc above 3.5! I don`t do any compounding or anything with it though. I`ll use a glaze or a clearner with it at 3-3.5. Other than that i go real slow aplying my waxes/sealents. All my compounding and agressive polishing is done with my rotory.

Like Koop, when I use the PC for waxes or sealants I usually have it on 3. WHen I use a polish, SMR or even a compound I bump it up to 5. I find it works much better.

Koop: Ok, cool. I don`t use mine for actual compounding - sorry, I worded that wrong. I use POLISHES like Menzerna on 5, and it works so much better...
Natty: Agreed, the PC works better on 5 for polishes, provided that they are "workable" for a decent period of time. I even tried it on 6 for a few seconds to see what it was like...WOW! Turbo power! :D

I agree! Spin that thing up!
Seriously, I believe in higher revs and less pressure.
