Hey all,
Prior to buffing I primed my pad with Meg`s QD (consumer`s line, not #34), then proceeded to buff out a section, but then noticed the pad had that reddish/rosy color to it......has this happen to any of you ? I was and still am a bit nervous about it, as the paint on my girlfriend`s car is red, and a single stage paint. However, prior to using that very QD I didn`t noticed it--it coincided with using Meg`s consumer`s line QD.

I dont think that the QD would make much of a difference. I`m not sure about your situation. Either way, you are still going to get a red paint comming off onto your pads and towels. Ive even had lots of paint transfer while washing a badly oxidized vehicle with QEW!
As long as you are being smart about your pad, product, etc... choices and you are being careful around edges, you will be okay. Just wondering, what product(s) were you trying out?
I was using Meg`s DACP + Meg`s polishing pad.

Yup, the car is red, but I`ve tested it and the red color was from Meg`s QD (red bottle/consumer line).
That Quick Detailer isn`t even red.
I can only think that it possibly made the product thinner so it worked into the paint better.
The red on the pad is from the paint. A polish is basically like a very fine, liquid sandpaper. It is removing a thin layer of paint that shows up red. If it`s a single stage red paint and you aren`t getting any red on the pad, then your polish isn`t working. Heck, a wax will usually pull color off the paint because of the solvents in it.
The paint on top of it is REALLY soft. The only way for me to not re-introduce more swirling in the finish is to use #82 + finishing pad, otherwsise, I get micro marring.even with DACP+ finishing pad. I buff in a cross hatch pattern, and move the rotary slowly, but not too slowly though. I spin it round 1000-1400 rpm.
Intel, if you feel like giving me some tip, don`t hesitate :)
