Help! Advice on Bass Boat correction needed.
Over the weekend my brother-in-law approached me about how to clean up his recently acquired bass boat. For a secondhand boat it seems to be in fine mechanical shape but the rest of it has seen better days. Thing is, I`ve never detailed a boat before but I really want to help him out and make it look great. Plus its a chance to learn something new.
The subject:

Hull problem areas:

What are those spots from? They seem too oddly placed for normal oxidation. Could they be from an acid washing that wasn`t properly rinsed off?
Would Marine 31 Finish Cut Metal Restoring Polish take care of the aluminum hull?
Since I don`t have access to a rotary would my GG 6 in combination with wool 6.5in pads produce enough cut to effectively polish an aluminum hull? Could it remove those odd white chalky areas?
Once corrected, what`s good to protect and maintained a hull?
Additional problem areas:

Best way the clean off mold/mildew? Remove spots from vinyl? OPC 3:1? A dedicated marine vinyl cleaner?
I`m very mindful of his limited budget and don`t want to blow it on products that aren`t going to deliver the best possible results. At the same time I want to be realistic on what we should expect to achieve. The boat will primarily be used on lakes and rivers if that helps?
Thanks in advance for any help!!!
Re: Help! Advice on Bass Boat correction needed.
For the aluminum hull I would try something like flitz it`s what I use to polish aluminum piping on boats then I seal with the polymer sealant I use to wax the boats for added protection.
When it comes to mold they make mold/mildew products but honestly I just use pure bleach. I soak a rag in it then lay the rag on the seat let it soak for up to 10 min then rinse and you`ll have a mold free seat.
Hope this helps
Re: Help! Advice on Bass Boat correction needed.
Thank you! I`ll check out Flitz. What polymer sealant do you use? Would WGDGPS work?
Re: Help! Advice on Bass Boat correction needed.
P21s Polishing soap extremely easy to use. It cannot get any user friendly then that.
As far as protection Collinite 476. Tough as nails.

I`ll ask AutopiaTech to chime in here, he is our resident Marine expert.
Re: Help! Advice on Bass Boat correction needed.
For the aluminum hull I would recommend Marine 31 Finish Cut Metal Restoring Polish. While a lot of products will "get the job done," this particular metal polish will make the job considerably easier. You can use it with your GG6 and a foamed wool pad, however I would see if you can borrow a rotary polisher from a friend or family member. If you plan on detailing boats on a regular basis, then I would HIGHLY recommending purchasing a rotary polisher.
Use Marine 31 Mildew Remover and Marine 31 Mildew Guard for all the vinyl surfaces. - Marine 31 Mildew Remover Combo
Easiest way to approach a gel coat (standard or painted) is with a one-step cleaner wax - Marine 31 Gel Coat Heavy-Cut Cleaner Wax. Pair this with the foamed wool pad on your GG6. If the finish isn`t too bad, then you can get away with Marine 31 All-In-One Gel Coat Polish & Wax - a less abrasive cleaner wax.
If you`re interested in doing a write-up for the forum using the above products, I can give you a GREAT discount. Call the main line and ask for NICK - 877-855-3125

That`s a nice boat, but it looks like you`ve got your work cut out for you! Goodluck with the detail. Sorry I`ve only done a few boats and they`ve usually been is pretty good shape.

Heck yeah I`ll do a write-up using the above products!
A discount will be awesome since my brother-in-law loves his bass boat but being a father of two girl, Iraqi war vet (Navy: Master-Chief), had to sell his Ford Raptor to buy a mini-van... doesn`t have a whole lot free time or disposable income. So I really wanted to maximize what we do over a long weekend w/ a limited budget and me pitching in whatever supplies I can. Calling Nick now!!

I use the reel shine line their pure marine wax is the polymer sealant I use, have had great durability in the harsh salt water environment.
