Thanks Trouble, nice to see you around!
Opti-Guard, from my understanding, is the original Opti-Coat which was only available to professional detailers. It has a quicker cure time so you have less time to remove the high spots before it hardens.
Opti-Coat 2.0 has a longer flash time and is more consumer friendly.

Thanks for not responding with a 14 paragraph explanation. You make things easy to understand :bubba
"Profesional Use" what does that mean, you have to fax a copy of your business license before it will be shipped?

So it didn`t matter what kind of business you owned as long as you had an ID #. I can see why they did away with that
In general, how long does Opti Coat/Gaurd last? I`ve heard up to 5 years :wow:
Re: Opti-Coat 2.0 Application Video
I can`t find the link to Opti Coat or Opti Gaurd :hmmm:

To order those you have to call the manufacturer directly. They are still for professional users only.
Re: Opti-Coat 2.0 Application Video
This explains why I couldn`t find it :crazy2:
Do you apply Opti Gaurd the same way as Opti Coat?
Re: Opti-Coat 2.0 Application Video
Great Video-I could have used that before my first time. It is going to help alot of first timers for sure.

Yes but you have less time (5 minutes) to remove high spots.

You say in the video to remove Opti Coat you have to polish. I`ve always heard you couldn`t polish (correct) untill its (Opti Coat) removed.
Could you explain the difference :thinking

The only way to remove Opti Coat (1.0-2.0-Opti-Guard) is through abrasion by sanding and or polishing. You have to abrade it off the paint.
You can actually polish swirl marks out of Opti-Coat but once it is applied you cannot remove any swirl marks underneath it until it is removed.
