i know it`s pretty abrasive (from posts I found thru search), so my question is basically, when would it be beneficial to use it? I know to start w/ the least abrasive bonnet and work your way up, but what kind of finish problems would warrant the use of a wool bonnet?
hehe i downloaded the video of DavidB testing the buffer, and he makes using the wool bonnet SOOOOOo easy! :D

They recommend you putting a MF bonnet over the wool bonnet
to make your car shine, this MF bonnet gets everything you missed off (wax) and makes the shine better.

I used the wool bonnet once. It was on a friend`s car (the one who used Endurance High Gloss tire dressing on his carpet mats:D ...and by the way, he explained to me the other day that Endurance doesn`t work well on windows! So keep that in mind next time you`re tempted ;) ). His car had some big long scratches on his hood that I couldn`t remove with the yellow pad and FI-II. So what they hey, let`s try the wool pad. I squirted some FI-II on the wool pad and kept it even and flat. After a couple passes, the scratches were completely gone. What happened to them, I don`t know. All I know is that I used the wool pad succesfully and didn`t create burn marks. By the way, he has a dark car, so I would be able to see the marks and swirls if they were there.

I just dl`d the buffing video for the PC from Autopia. What program should I use to view .WMV files??
-

I like Windows Media Player.
For us behind-the-times detailers with a 56k dial-up modem, is it possible to download that video? All I see is a link for 128-384KB ISDN or DSL, and one for 512KB-2MB DSL or Cable. Nothin` about a dial-up. Anybody know if there is a place for a 56K to download the video?

Send a pm to DAVIDB and see. It is a big file that is why he has it for the higher speed connections.
-
Right click on the link, then select `Save Target As` and save the file to your hard drive. Then, you can open up Windows Media Player and play the video over and over again :)

Thanks!
I :bow at your detailing knowladge

I just finished downloading it (and like John said, I`m watching it again and again, over and over!!). I was just wondering if anybody knows which 3M product he is using? He says he is applying a 3M product to the wool pad, but I can not tell what it is. Any idea?
Also, David doesn`t appear to be using too much pressure. Is he?

I have a 56K modem and its currently up to 12 MB d/l already.
How big is this file????
Thanks,
Jason
PS. Darn ISDN, DSL, Cable, T-1, and T-3 users!!!!!!!! :)
