I was thinking are there any month, quarterly mags for detailers? Something that would talk about new products, techniques, etc.
I would be one that would buy it. Anyone know of any?
If not then here is another hair brained idea that I have!!

we can just come here to Detail City and get all the info we can use:dcrules
There is.... ;) it`s called Professional Carwashing & Detailing magazine (sorry Poorboy... maybe a monthly newsletter for your customers might be up your alley)
Apply for a FREE-introductory subscription to Professional Carwashing & Detailing magazine
I get these news letters and some "detailing" magazines but mostly they are just filled with 90% advertising and the rest is mainly all about automated car wash systems.
Hey DOC
I get the e-mail version of that every month. Its geared towards the larger car wash guys. The ones that most of us would not take our cars threw.
I`m talking more on the lines of a Newsletter.

I had a subscription for a very long time and as Beemerboy said..it`s more of a carwashing business publication...
as far as a news letter...not really needed...anything that is new or important can be instantly posted here...:dcrules
we will be adding a FAQ to our Poorboy`s World forum
and everyone knows where to find me if they have a question:dunno
right Dave:D
Your right on that one Steve.
There are others... that is the one that comes to mind first though...
Why couldn`t it be an on-line newsletter...maybe a monthly letter explaining new products that have come out, updates..new items being released, etc. It would sort of be a condensed version of the stuff we all look at everyday...maybe even get our advertisers to sponser it for an ad...then even casual lurkers could print out a 2 page newsletter to read elsewhere...with a POORBOYS ad prominently displayed....??????
Maybe a little picture of Natty`s Wax as an ad....???
Now your getting the idea that I have. I could run my add for 1-800- detailers, another hair brained idea of mine!!
Very nice..1-800-detailers....listing all the detailers here by state...very nice..maybe even arrrange it so, by the honor system of course, anyone who gets a detailing job through here would send back say $5 or $10 to help run it.......hmmmmmm
Simple..effective..something we could print out and read at the beach...or give to a friend at work who`s bugging you about what wax you use...or how do you get it so shiny??......hmmmm
I created this thread for the same purpose....Quote:

My idea about 1-800 detailer was along the lines of 1-800 dentist. You would have to meet certain criteria to be on the list. Then people would call in to see who is in there area.
oh you just opened a can of questions:DQuote:

how could you qualify a detailer? years , $$$ charged?
I know some detailers that have been in business a long time and still do sh#58y work , and some who charge lots of $$$ but also do sh$#*y work, yet there are some unknowns that do outstanding work:dunno
I tried to secure the 1-800-detailer (1-800-338-2453) back in 1990-91 only to find it unavailable... hehehe -- I also tried 1-800-4-A-Detail and 1-800-Clean-Car.. all with no avail. Times have changed, maybe the 888 versions are unsecured. Good luck :)
