Turtle Wax trim restorer...
Saw the TW trim restorer on the shelf at my local WalMart. It was cheap enough at $7 to try. Previously I used Mothers Back To Black. Initially it looked good but over 4 weeks has started to fade a bit. I grabbed a cheap MF and applied this thickish liquid on it and rubbed it on textured black trim. The towel turned black, really black, so this stuff seems to have really good cleaning ability. The towel went in the trash when finished.
It left a dark wet look on trim. Not sure how long this will last but at this point, it seems to be a winner.
Re: Turtle Wax trim restorer...
Looking forward to a durability report. Thanks.
Re: Turtle Wax trim restorer...
I’ve used it a few years ago thought it was junk then the seal and shine boom happened I pulled it back out and it really is decent products. It’s like a tire dressing that’s how I have been using it. I also put it on interior plastic but it was very high gloss on interior. I would buy it over Meguair’s store line up products
Re: Turtle Wax trim restorer...
I wonder if it would work as a high shine tire dressing.
Re: Turtle Wax trim restorer...
Is it a high-shine/gloss product?
Does it run/etc. in the rain?
Re: Turtle Wax trim restorer...
On the textured trim it acted more like a cleaner. It pretty much evaporated off and is non greasy. On the smooth window trim it worked quite nicely.

William_Wallace posted this link in a thread I started about faded trim, it was pretty helpful:

yes really high shine it runs less then other silicones if you were going to put it on a trim piece mid panel think it would be above average in not ending up all over your paint after the storm.
Just goes to show how important a brands perception could be. When I first bought and tried I shrugged it of as crappy turtle wax product pre-seal and shine era.
Now after turtle wax got the boost in credibility I thought it’s better than Meguair’s endurance gel.
Re: Turtle Wax trim restorer...
William_Wallace- While it`s not something *I* will be using, I agree about perceptions of product lines and love how companies like TW are upping their game, hoping that`ll *change* those perceptions to something more fact-based. The whole "eh, that`s just TW..I use [fancy stuff].." is often just, uhm.. BS.
Re: Turtle Wax trim restorer...
Best way to describe the product is if was on sale I may consider buying it!
