Re: 1987 Porsche 930 Turbo
Always such perfection from your work, beautiful!
Re: 1987 Porsche 930 Turbo
Nice job on this car but wow to the engine and wheels !
How did you handle those rims ?
I love that this has been driven.
Re: 1987 Porsche 930 Turbo
Thanks all!!!
Thank you Coleroad!
Jimmie Jam, I know you love some white paint too! LOL
JSFM: Thanks! Wheels got a thorough waterless wash, clay, and I polished them with metal polish (they are chrome) to brighten them up and remove whatever garbage was on them. Then they were sealed.

Sizzle Chest:
Thank you for posting pics on (another!) iconic Porsche 911, especially for a self-professed Porsche aficionado such as myself. Once again, the proverbial "The best cars in the world get detailed by the best detailers" comes into play. and this particular Porsche is no exception.
That dark blue is fantastic now!
Some questions (as always ,Captain Obvious!):
1) What do you clean those color-encrusted pads with AND are these pads reserved for doing single-stage paints ONLY?
2) What is the Autoriz nano polisher like? I do not seem to remember that tool ever being listed in your detailing items before.
(A good detailer can never have too many tools.. "There`s a right tool for every job")
3) Is the wood steering wheel a Porsche option with this car for that year and do you know what kind of wood it is? Looks unique!!
4) Why was the Blackfire Midnight Sun Wax chosen for use on this particular color ? I assume you have a number of different carnauba waxes that would be a suitable choice for this particular color and paint type. Just curious....
To see your grey 911 in the background tells me how far the 911 has "evolved" in styling bodywork and aerodynamics. I must be honest that I prefer this older style because it is more reminiscent of the "first" unmistakable and iconic 911 body styling, but your modern 911 styling has been highly influenced by government safety regulations and gas-mileage requirements and yet still retains that iconic 911 identity.
I cannot help but think how much better this era and time is for "performance cars" than in the late 60`s-early 70`s"Muscle Car" era. Dodge Challenger Hell Cats Red-eye, Ford Mustang GT500`s , Chevy Camaro Z-28`s, Mid-engine Corvette (FINALLY!), Bugatti Chiron, Nissan GT-R, even Infinity/Nissan variable-compression engines.. this truly is the "golden age" of the gasoline internal combustion piston engine.

1) What do you clean those color-encrusted pads with AND are these pads reserved for doing single-stage paints ONLY? I throw them out. Get a panel out of them and...done!
2) What is the Autoriz nano polisher like? I do not seem to remember that tool ever being listed in your detailing items before. It is a micro polisher. Uses very small pads-1/2" or smaller.

3) Is the wood steering wheel a Porsche option with this car for that year and do you know what kind of wood it is? Looks unique!! It is mahogany. I believe it is a factory `nardi` wheel.

I wanted to stay `in brand` with the Blackfire one step I used, so I topped it with some BF nuba!

I agree! Love the lines of the classics! No mistaking them for anything else. And, yes, very true from a performance standpoint about today`s modern cars.
Re: 1987 Porsche 930 Turbo
One other comment on performance vehicle evolution is tire size and tire compound technology.
I see that this Porsche has 205/55R16 91V Bridgestone RE-11 Potenza on it (Yes, I enlarged my computer screen display to see it. Good photography, Sizzle Chest; the resolution was still very clear!). The rim looks "small" and the tire sidewall looks "thick" compared to 18 to 20" rims and 3xx tire sidewall profiles that look like O-rings or thin rubber bands mounted on such large rims of today`s performance vehicles.
I do not know what tire was the OEM tire manufacturer for this particular Porsche , but I do know that tires of older OEM sizes are becoming harder and harder to find of iconic vintage Porsches as tire manufacturer drop production of these sizes due to lack of demand and maximizing company profit margins.
This owner is very fortunate to find his OEM sizes and run Bridgestone Potenza`s tires with today`s modern tire compound technology.
