Moved in to my new shop!!!
Hey everybody. Been absent here for the past month or so. My family and I purchased a 6 acre property and closed on June 30th. Since then we have been going non stop getting the house, shop renovations completed. As of now I`m going to start moving my equipment in tomorrow.

So the 40x60 Morton building is now divided into two sides. Each roughly 40x30. My shop on one side and the other is my wifes barn stalls for our horses.
In order to get my shop going we first had to remove 40+ yards of fill to prep for a 6in concrete slab. First we started by digging down and sinking 2 55 gal drums for my drain/dry well setup.

Once that was done. We removed the rest of the fill, checking grade as we went. We also built in a grade to pitch towards the drain. Once finished we compacted, laid down a vapor barrier and had the slab poured.

My brother in law handle all the electrical work. 10 4 gang boxes and 6 high bay LED UFO lights. I also pressure washed all the walls to remove years of dust and dirt.

Did you do all the concrete prep work yourself?

Thanks bud. Yeah my father in law is a builder by trade. Dude can literally build anything. And has the equipment to do it. We have done everything ourselves except the actual concrete pour

Justins00SS- Hey, that`s great! Interesting to read about the build too...how much liquid can the drain accommodate?

Lets put it this way. Those drums are 55gal each. And they have a series of holes drilled in them along with the 3/4 stone will help it leech out more than adequately without washout. This is called a dry well.

I have the same 55 gallon drum set up in my wash bay. It is tied into my French Drain and works very well.
Re: Moved in to my new shop!!!
Congratulations! That`s a great lookin shop.
Do you have plans for insulation, and a heat source?
Oh, and love the Camaro!

Right, I`m familiar with them. But I didn`t know how much yours could cope with in *this* application, how long it takes for the water to leech out so as to not get overwhelmed. You`re not worried, so OK :D
