Re: New rubber, new look!
Nice job. Looks great.
How hard is it to get the overspray off the tires ? And tips or tricks ? I would have taped them off.
Re: New rubber, new look!
It looks great Scott. They turned out great, and really set the car off. I`d be interested in a review of those ps91`s too.

Sizzle Chest:
The above question is the same one I have: how do you get Plasti dip off the tires? Do you pre-treat the tires with a "release agent"?
Was this Plasti Dip done to protect the rims and make brake dust removal easier from track time driving or racing??
Are the center-cap Porsche insignias (insigniae?) difficult to remove from the rim and then re-install? Snap-fit, because I see the two holes in the center??
New tires look like Kumho`s Ecsta PS91`s to replace the Pirelli`s. Why this particular tire? Affordability? Performance? Tread wear longevity?
As a Porsche aficionado, I LOVE the iconic 911. However, I am not enamored with the gold wheel color with the dark grey/anthracite paint color, but that is just me and my personal taste; (Oh, so Captain Obvious is now a Porsche Color Scheme Critic. Who made you the Porsche fashion police??) Hey, it is your 911 and you can do with it as you see fit (Thank you very much!) I do think the "Martini "corporate color striping/logo gives your 911 some distinctiveness and uniqueness. (Make-up compliment, Captain Obvious??) I cannot win...
(Hey, Captain Obvious, you would drive & own any 911 in ANY color combo if you could "reasonably" afford it)
Side note: looking forward to your reviews and comments on your new cordless Flex XCE 10-8 I saw in "Unboxing Pictures" thread post #4091!!
Re: New rubber, new look!
Thanks for the replies!!
It peels off pretty easily from the tires...as long as you dress them prior to spraying! Next time I will tape off them as well to assist in the removal.
I`ve seen great reviews on them and will post up what I think!!
Captain Obvious: As long as the tires are slathered with dressing, it peels off pretty easily. I did it just for aesthetics. I like changing up the look every now and then. (when I need new rubber).
Center caps come off easily, yes, just a new snap fit. Porsche has a special tool for removal available.
Mrs. Sizzle had the idea of the Martini Livery! Such a great woman! We both love it as we/she was getting bored with the `plain` looking Agate Grey color. Thought about wrapping the whole car, but I`m a paint guy!!!!
I chose those tires for a number or reasons: price, performance, great reviews, nice looking sidewall.
And...I love GOLD!!!
Re: New rubber, new look!
