Challenger 392 Shaker coated with CQuartz Professional
Some of my Challenger friends and clients have been asking to see some pics of their cars, so here`s one I did recently. Brand spankin new, just a couple hundred miles. Needed just light correction to fix the heavy texture and lack of clarity these new ones seem to be coming with straight from the factory. A little paint correction and boy did the gloss come out! The body and wheels were fully coated in 2 coats of CQuartz Professional ceramic coating. Wheels were pulled off the car and coated front to back, every square inch before IR curing and remounting. Many people ask if you can coat matte or satin wheels/spoilers/trim/hoods/vinyl, etc. Yes! You can and it looks great. Hope you like it!

This is the texture almost every Challenger and Charger I`ve seen in the last 4 years seems to have. Its not orange peel. Its more like dye back. The good news is, there is a substantial increase in clarity and gloss to the paint when you correct this.

After correcting it, much more clarity and gloss

All done! Coated and cured and ready for the owner.

Re: Challenger 392 Shaker coated with CQuartz Professional
nice work.
I`ve noticed that lack of clarity as well. Seems to be getting worse from the 2015s up to 2017. Funny I don`t ever recall seeing anything like that on my 09 SRT, but maybe I just didn`t know any better at the time.
I think I like the blue and grey shades of shakers the best

Great work as always, Jeff!
My new Ram pick-up has this nasty paint issue too, but I`d say it`s worse then the Hellcats I`ve done. I may hit it quick with some denim pads but will see what a rotary and wool pad does first. Now I just have to find the time to actually do it....

I think I started seeing it around `13-14 on them. Definitely not 12 or older

the metallic silver shade, destroyer grey.. b5 or jazz blue shakers look the best IMO, something about the color contrast w/the shaker hood

Excellent work! Tons of texture in my 2013 when I got it. Microfiber pad and compound to care of about 90%. Minimal decrease in thickness

Wow, I`m not around as many Mopars as you, but that Destroyer Grey is one of the coolest colors. Never heard of the color until your post. Had to look it up. Looks to be no metallic?
Wish it was a tad lighter gray (I mean a tad), but I love the look.
BTW, posted on AGO, how much I love GoFast`s shop, photographs, and work. Great job again, this time on Autopia.

Would love to do one of those Destroyer Greys. Such a sinister name, fits the car proper.
Thank you very much! Working on some upgrades to take the shop and photos up a notch. Thanks!

A previous client got one (destroyer grey T/A 392) and told me he was gonna bring it to me...so I bought gyeon q2 matte kit and can gyeon primer/can coat for the paint and he got the car and flaked
last time I ever took a potential client for their word
still not happy about the $160 investment with no use for any of these products
oh well
love the shop too btw..wish i had a shop in my backyard
Re: Challenger 392 Shaker coated with CQuartz Professional
Nice work. I`m fan of Billet metallic shaker, I have same color SP non shaker though. I agree the paint on 15+ is terriable imo, my 06 has better paint. It`s not just Challenger and Charger, i worked on black 2500 ram and it was bad.
