Could Offering Multiple Coating Ranges/Brands Capture More Customers?
I was having a discussion with another detailer earlier this week and came up with the opinion that offering different brands & tiers of coatings can allow you to capture more potential clients. If you only offer 1 type/level of coating it perhaps could be limiting your closing rate? Since I started offering a 2nd coating line I`ve been pretty much closing every person that`s called inquiring about our coating service. Instead of only counting on that 1 particular client who wants the top tier coating, I make it known that we have another professional grade option for considerably less money. 3 out of 4 times they choose the lesser of the 2. Funny thing is that even though they`re going with a coating that costs them less, they`re now going with upsell items like wheels, trim & glass coating spiking the final sales price!! Just thought I`d pass this on......

That`s the best way to do it IMO.

We offer 3 brands and have found it works very well. We can cover everyone`s budget and needs. 95% of our work is coatings and we are now seeing repeats come back and move up to Modesta because they love how easy coating maintenance is.

I currently offer only one brand so to say but have 3 different levels. 1yr 2yr and 3yr. Most have been going with the 2yr or 3yr.
Not big on offering multiple brands it makes it to complicated trying to sell.

Well, it makes complete sense to offer people choice. That`s what we`re accustomed to. I can see offering different tiers...maybe three or four different brands.
Glad to hear coatings are gaining the publics` acceptance.

I stuck with just one coating for years but I think having options is the way to go. I`m really working on selling the consumer grade coatings ATM, sure it`s great selling a $1000 dollar pro coating but I then don`t see that client for a number of years after generally. I am hoping a consumer coating such as gloss coat or cquarts will get my clients coming back every second year for a detail and re coat, plus with the lower initial purchase of the coating it should give clients a taste of coatings that would not spend the cash on the pro version.
