Griots Garage Rolling Sit-On Creeper
I bought this a few weeks ago and like it so much I wanted to do a quick review of it. This is actually my first review of any product since I have been on the forums (2005) so I figure it`s time.
I had been using a Craftsman rolling stool for years and my two biggest issues w it were (1) The seat was very small and (2) the wheels were so tiny they would get caught up on every little stone or crack in my garage. Griot`s has taken care of both of those issues perfectly.
The creeper - like almost everything else I have bought from Griots - is very high quality. It`s roughly 14" high which for me is the perfect height for wheel cleaning and doing rockers and the lower portions of the doors and fenders.

The frame is extremely solid and the creeper is rock solid. It`s got a metal frame that holds the seat and the wheels that is MORE than strong enough. The seat is also rock solid. I`m a big guy - 6`4" 240 lbs - and I fit on this thing no problem.

The only negative I can say about the seat is that it`s simpy a piece of solid plastic. A padded seat would be nice. I haven`t used it for hours at a time yet so the overall comfort level remains to be seen.
It has a center storage drawer which is kind of cool...

and two side storage trays that are removable if you decide you dont want to use them

The absolute best thing about this creeper is the casters. These are monster truck wheels in the world of casters. This thing is so smooth and literally rolls "like butta"...
Two of the wheels have locks on the them and they come in very handy if you have a slight grade to your driveway like I do. I lock the casters when I`m using the creeper to clean my wheels and they stay put no problem.

The creeper is 80 bucks from Griots and in my opinion is worth every penny.
As Griots says in the Creeper`s description...."Get one and let the good times roll"
Re: Griots Garage Rolling Sit-On Creeper
Very nice review. I`ve been eyeballing that creeper, but I already have stool that is, unfortunately, functional. I do get annoyed with the casters however.

Looks really nice. I`m in the market for a new one. Was considering the Racatac kneeling one too.

:)
Good review, regardless of first time or not.
I had no idea there was a center drawer. No clue the sides come out and have little dividers!! That just made this thing a whole lot more tempting for me!!!!
WOW.
hmm. the only thing I probably won`t like, is that it doesn`t appear to be height adjustable, like the pneumatic stools some of us use. I do change the height of mine as I`m working on cars
Thank you for the nice review and pictures!
Re: Griots Garage Rolling Sit-On Creeper
Awesome looking design. Looks very well thought out and well built. Four cup holders that`s awesome too:)

Its not height adjustable no. I still have my Craftsman adjustable stool but I`m thinking I`ll use the Griots 95% of the time...

I bought it and have not been able to use it much because of my knees getting skinned from a bike accident. First I skinned the right knee when my front tire burst while turning then after that was almost healed I scraped the left knee mountain biking. The injury`s were minor but the scabs take about two weeks healing because the new skin is very tender and will not support kneeling and rubbing my pants. I am thinking I should have bought a Griots type instead because I crash at least once a year mountain biking usually scraping a knee or elbow.

Great review dschribs! Thank you!
I`ve been wanting to get one of these since last year. Hoped that they were going to be discounted on Black Friday or after Christmas, but I have yet to see Griots put them on sale.
I finally ordered one two days ago as Griots is running a free shipping over $50 special currently... the coupon code is "EMEAVB" if anyone else is interested.
I try to buy everything from Autopia but these are only available direct from Griots (as far as I know).
Re: Griots Garage Rolling Sit-On Creeper
*bump* hey Dschribs hows the seat holding up? Any additional thoughts on it since you posted this review back in April? TIA.

Love it. In addition to using it every time I clean my tires & wheels - I`ve used it numerous times around the house. Came in very handy when I was installing new outlets in my mud room the other day. Highly recommend it.
Re: Griots Garage Rolling Sit-On Creeper
That does look nice. I also have been at a crossroad the last few weeks on what to get.
Simple bucket top cushion.
Autogeek back & knee pad.
One of the seat creepers that both sell.
The above mentioned griots.
Griots also sells a kneeling pad.

First thing I thought before even clicking on the thread (because I could see the picture of it on the Tapatalk app) was man actually good casters on a seat !
And well you back it up by going on about them. Looks like a great piece that should last almost forever

Re: Griots Garage Rolling Sit-On Creeper
After using mine for about 6 months now, it`s okay - but it is not really better than the height adjustable, cushioned, rolling stool that I already had bought from Griots years ago. The side trays of the sit-on creeper have compartments that are really too small to hold anything, and the cup holders in the trays are also too small. Griots must have realized this as they now sell these "bottle holder" accessories for an additional $10...

This stool is a good idea, but it`s ultimate design is poor. I would not recommend buying this particular product.
