Lexus Help
Hi Folks.
We just picked up a Lexus LS460 FSport in UltraWhite. Previous to this we had a 2005 Lexus LS430 in Moonlight Pearl. The LS430 had a very soft paint, that was easily handled once I figured that out.
Anybody care to share their take on the newer models and the best way to handle the paint during cleaning and polishing?
Also I am considering a seal coat after prep and polish. This is would be new to me in that I have never used one. Advice here or links to advice would be pretty swell!
A few products that I am looking over. Please feel free to criticize, add or tweak my current selection. Remember, new at this stuff and I am feeling a little in over my head.
McKee`s 37
GTechniq EXO
Cquartz UK Edition
GYEON (not sure which....Prime or Q2)
Thanks!

Re: Lexus Help
I used griots boss creams on our Lexus is250 f sport with great success. The exo is good but using csl topped with exo is excellent from what I have seen. Make sure to due the prep work with any coating for success

Re: Lexus Help
McKee`s 37 is the easiest to use of the coatings listed (and the least expensive). I`m my opinion coatings are not all that difficult to apply. The first time you do anything it is a little intimidating. Just remember to polish the paint well because a coating will not mask any defects like waxes can. Just follow the manufacturers directions and watch a few installation videos and go to it. You can search here on the forum by coating name and you will find help with each coating.

Re: Lexus Help
Lexus IS notorious for changing paint on the line, so the best advice is forget the others you`ve done and do a test spot.

Re: Lexus Help
Congratulations on your new ride! The LS 460 F Sport is sweet!! Please post up some pics.
Of the coatings you listed, I only have experience with the Gyeon line. Gyeon Mohs is their top consumer coating offering and the one I would recommend. The application is fairly easy and the kit comes with everything you need.
Gyeon also just released a finish polish/coating primer called "Primer." I would use that as my final polish before coating with Mohs - especially on a white car. Should really amp up the gloss before coating. Then apply two coats of Mohs.
If you wanted to get really crazy, do 3 coats of Mohs and then top it with Gyeon CanCoat! This was recommended by a Gyeon representative for insane gloss!
GYEON Q2 Mohs Ceramic Paint Coating - 30 ml
GYEON Q2 CanCoat - 200 ml
Doesn`t look like Autopia or Autogeek is carrying "Primer" yet, but it is out there... just do a google search.
Whatever you end up choosing please post pics of the finished product! Good luck [emoji256]

Re: Lexus Help
Thanks. The Kamakaze is new to me gotta check it out.
Lots of new products and pads since I last spent the time to stock up. The Rupes line interests me, however it seems to be for randoms rather than rotary polishers. That true?
