Re: LSx Miata *In Progress*
AWESOME!!! Please keep us posted. It will be a monster! Local guy did an LS3 swap in a Honda S2000, that`s about the closest!
Re: LSx Miata *In Progress*
I think you should put this LS motor into it! :)

I would think a 300hp Vortec 5.3 would be awesome. However, I would pay the extra for the aluminum block of true LS1, 2, or 3. Save weight. Delete all the unnecessary accessories: radio, ac, dash, door panels, and add light weight seats, etc. Make the beast as light as functionally possible.
I`ve never seen an LS or 5.0 (Monster) Miata. Love watching and listening to them on youtube though.
Good luck and spare no expense, make your dream car:)

Still working on the blower for your Sport Ute. I`ve seen those boat engines, they`re heavy enough to anchor the Nimitz.

Modify the frame, get a custom hood, a tad bit beefier rear end and add this LS:)

Re: LSx Miata *In Progress*
You guys are awesome :P
I would save for a legit LS but the Vortec puts down serious power as is, especially with a T56 strapped to it. Considering the weight of an NA Miata, even a baby 4.8L would do wonders.
I`m actually planning on an LM7 which is all aluminum but if I find any of the others (iron block) for a decent price I wont hesitate.
All said and done, doing the V8 swap with anything from a 4.8L to 6.2L engine, T56 transmission, custom axles, custom sub-frame, trans mount bracket, and differential (Cobra, Thunderbird, or Cougar 8.8" differential) the Miata only gains 100lbs-150lbs WITH FULL ACCESSORIES... which considering the displacement goes from 1.6L to an average of 5.3L (that`s 3.5 times the displacement) and increase in power from about 70-90whp to 240-260whp......
NEED I SAY MORE!??!
