Re: Autopia Ultimate Steamer Guide
I was helping a customer compare different steamers we carry and thought it would be a good idea to share all of the data I was using.
If you guys want to see anything added or changed let me know.
Re: Autopia Ultimate Steamer Guide
Are there listed spec. vs recovery times.
For example, the HI. I have the original one and the new one.
Spoke to Dupray. They say for the most part, the guts are similar.
Anyhow, there is a night and day difference in recovery time - aka, I can run the newer one with *injection* longer than the former.
There were times where when waiting on recovery time, it felt like I was watching paint dry.
I suppose the above post may not apply if we`re talking just pure steam. 85% if I`m using the unit, I`m using injection....

I`ll look to see if they have a spec on that. I can add it to the injection units even if the others don`t have that feature.
How do you like the HI? That thing looks like a BEAST compared to the others.
Re: Autopia Ultimate Steamer Guide
Truth be told, I very rarely use it on the cars...
If I do , it`s more like door/trunk jambs, paint on the door by the sill......
I use it a ton more in the house. Bathrooms, it`s almost 95% injection use.
It`s amazing on wood floors. Meaning, I`m pretty OCD like paint on the wood flooring. The floors to me were ~clean~
The 1st time I used the steamer on the wood flooring, I was literally like "wow", this is a whole nuther level of clean.
Heating time IMO is a #, but in real world usage, recovery time I think is more important for every steamer on the ~grid~
Re: Autopia Ultimate Steamer Guide
Nice info you set up for interested customers on the fence.
Re: Autopia Ultimate Steamer Guide
Great post to help those who are unsure what it all means.
I`ll add that with steamers, you get what you pay for. Higher pressures are a must IMO, and if you can afford detergent injection... GET IT! Nothing quite like being able to hit something like a filthy steering wheel with a burst of super high temp detergent and watch the dirt just disappear. Amazing
Re: Autopia Ultimate Steamer Guide
Vapor chief
75psi(mine came stock at 85psi)
Heating time is 17 mins
Modded it to 105 psi( will check heating time again for this)
19mins to 110psi
Down to 75psi..only takes 1 minute to regain about 22 more psi
Starting off. At 100psi and spray for 1min goes down to 65psi...one min of idls brings it to 85 psi
10 second spray from 90psi goes down to 75psi..12 sec model back to 90
105 psi spray fotb3 secs down to 95psi
Idle for about 8 to get back to 105
All in all psi gives me more consistent working pressure above 75

forgot to note those specs were with full steam volum setting..adjust it down and pressure is allot more steady
Re: Autopia Ultimate Steamer Guide
Visiting this thread as my weaker (~75psi) steamer recently died and it`s not really serviceable :(
What are you folks using for the Chemical Injection? I have that on my Daimer 1500C but I`ve never used it.
When doing wood floors, any major caveats? That`s another thing I`ve hardly ever done (just used the Daimer on some thresholds).
