Is SSR1 mild enough for frequent use?

I have new black paint... no major swirls but the lightest pressure sometimes even leaves some mild marring. My main goal is to take proper care in washing, QD`ing, etc but I want a VERY mild abbrasive polish that is safe to use before every detail - average about once a month. I would do major polishing i.e. SSR 2 or 2.5 only once or twice a year but I want my black garage queen perfect all the time and just a chemical polish i.e. AIO isn`t quite enough. Will SSR1 remove too much material when used frequently? Am I better off with one of the "cleansers" i.e. PPCL?

Re: Is SSR1 mild enough for frequent use?

I think SSR1 is indeed mild enough for frequent use. I use it frequently on my cars. Generally about once a month - I love that SSR1 shine.

I recall reading something on this forum recently about this same issue and was going to quote it but I can`t find the thread. Assuming I remember correctly, The concensus was that SSR1 is safe for frequent use on clearcoats.

    I hope it helps.

While SSR1 is pretty mild and safe for regular use, IMO if you have the need to polish once a month I would examine your washing/drying tools/techniques.

Even on black (it is not honda black is it?) you should not have to plish once a month. Just my .02

I use it every month and have not had any problems so far. I just love the look it gives and it`s so easy to use My toyota`s paint is on the soft side, and it works well on minor swirls and some marring from improper washing.

I use it with a dewalt 443. Its similar to the pc but has more power it`s a lot noisier too.

SSR1 is fairly mild. If you couple it with a finishing pad (instead of a polishing pad) it will be pretty gentle. You could also use a mild chemical cleanser if you don`t have any surface imperfections (marring, scratches, swirls) that need to be fixed. I like Clearkote Vanilla Moose and Poorboys Polish with Carnuba for mild polishing. If you`re worried about bonding issues, you could try Poorboy`s Professional Polish instead.
