Nice job! I like the reflections. Was the SSR 2.5 followed up with SSR1 or PP or PwC? What about EX or EX-P?
Steve...please let me know when you have SSR 2.5 available.
With Aloha,
Ranney
Steve, did you use any SSR 2.5 on the driveway to get some of those swirls/cracks out! Just kidding, it looks great. I guess I will be starting X-mas list early.
how did you like it compared to DACP...im debating between the 2
Steve - Next time, remind me to resize the pictures for you.
the first two pictures are after SSR2.5
after we did the whole truck...ok let`s back up
first we washed with some new shampoo at the local do it yourself wash and some new chenille mitts...
(some of you may remember a lost thread called nightmare on Staten Island..same truck)
then the truck was dried with waffle weaves
next it was clayed since this is a daily driver and left outdoor in some industrial fall out areas.
at this point there was some swirls left from a valient try with the rotary by one of our beloved member of this forum, but the holigrams were driving the owner :crazy
they were very easy to see and attack...
I used SSR2.5 on the foam pc pad @ 5-5.5 until it basically became clear....I spent a good 4-5 minutes on each 2x2 section
the truck was quite impressive after the SSR2.5 but there were still some fine swirls and a few holigrams, but they had to be searched for.
we then went over the whole truck with SSR1 , at speeds of 4-5
with another sponge polishing pad...
there was very little spiderwebbing that could be seen at this point and then a coat of PwC was applied ...
the truck at this point was stunning , there were no more spiderwebs to be seen, no more holigrams and I wanted to quit there....
this is a f250 extended cab with a full size bed...I was tired but
curious too:naughty...
I applied by hand EX-P on a bed panel...let it dry for 15 minutes and wiped off...it was super slick and really shiny
those are the last two pics...
the owner seen in the pictures, liked the look, so he applied it to the rest of the truck...
we did find an interesting point...that EX-P applied by hand leaves a slicker surface than if applied by pc, which he did to the rest of the truck....
ps...anyone like the side view mirrors..(new product in testing:naughty)
I`ve tried a couple side by side comparisons. From my observations, DACP and SSR2.5 have equal scratch and swirl removal capabilities. However, SSR2.5 does not leave behind as much surface marring and may not require a final polish as a follow-up step. Without hesitation, SSR2.5 would be my choice.Originally posted by 2drtahoez71

About time DACP give way to poorboy`s SSR, lol
A man has got to recognize his limitations, and then learn how to adapt within those confines. Then go out and conquer.
that is a huge @#..... :naughty Looks Great after 2.5
As for the side mirrors...More products? I just got the TR too
Nice work Steve, and neat pics! The SSR2.5 sounds like a real winner to me!
One more thing.............. you guys did go back and get all that polish residue out of the door seams........... didn`t you?
