Having friend with friends . . . a new twist

I spent an enjoyable afternoon yesterday with an old friend, Poorboys Super Slick & Suds . . . but with a new twist. A fellow member sent me one of Steve’s latest (& greatest) Chenille Microfiber Wash Mitts & a fresh supply of Super Slick & Suds. Once I got over the glaring orange colour (not blue??), I was impressed by the soft feel of the plush fibers, even when dry.

My CR-V has not been washed since early November, and while the paint was still looking pretty good (compared to those which have been subjected to snow, ice & crud), the wheels were an ugly nightmare!! So I started there, with an OLD sheepskin mitt & a bucketful of Super Slick & Suds. I prefer using an old mitt as I find it easiest to maneuver through the spokes to get the wheels as clean as possible. Since I used Poorboys Wheel Sealant two years ago when the car was new, I’ve never felt the need to step up to his Spray & Rinse Wheel Cleaner. The Super Slick & Suds just floated the heavy accumulation of brake dust & other debris right off the wheels.

Once I was done with the wheels, I loaded up the foam gun & ran a fresh double bucket of rinse water & Super Slick & Suds. For me the test of a wash mitt is how well it can transport suds from the bucket to the car’s surface. I load up other mitts with lots of foamy suds, & by the time they hit the paint, I’m down to what appears to be clear water. Not so with the Chenille Microfiber mitt, I was putting suds & foam on the car’s paint!

And speaking of foam . . . I used the Super Slick & Suds in the foam gun, & I don’t know if Steve has tweaked the formula or not, but I have NEVER seen foam like I got yesterday! It was laying on the paint an inch thick & clinging to the vertical surfaces! And when I started washing with the Microfiber mitt, it just glided over the surfaces & picked up all the dirt & contaminants. I was a little worried as I could see them in the mitt when I finished a section, but after a rinse in the clear water bucket, it was good to go again!

Finished up with a clear flooding rinse, dried it & then topped it off with Spray & Gloss & Bold ‘n Brite on the tires.

Norah...I did a review on the same mitt..about two weeks back...I feel in many ways the same..only thing that I did notice about the mitt was that it hard to move across the paint...meaning it drags / bites the surface pretty good compared to a sponge or wool mitt

I was just thinking of doing the same....except for the fact that its 12 degrees here and my brand new car hurts too look at. Needless to say I`m a bit jealous.
