More info on Polish w/ Sealant (PwS)
This was the info posted on Friday....
Yesterday I did some more testing on my truck. After claying, I purposely induced holograms on my hood with a rotary and a wool pad, they were removed using the PwS and an orange Lake Country pad that was primed with only PwS, with a speed of 5-6, after spreading at 1-2. It took one pass to remove all the holograms and two to eliminate 95+% of all the swirls and light scratches. I let the remaining product haze and then it wiped off without any effort at all with a mega-plush towel.
- it can be used with a pc
- it can be used with a rotary
- it can be used by hand
- it does not dust at all
- it is pad dependent (will do different jobs depending on the pad)
- it will remove oxidation
- it will remove swirls
- it will remove light/ medium scratches
- it will leave a clean finish
- it will leave a shiny surface
- it will leave a slick finish
- it can be topped if desired by either sealants or waxes
- it can be used as a stand alone product for Pro detailers who need a one step product !!
On the driver side I used an orange pad(speed of 5-6) and tried dampening the pad first with Spray & Gloss. This I find not advisable, even though it seemed to let the product go further, it also made it a bit harder to remove. Slickness and shine seemed the same as the hood.
On the passenger side, after claying, I used only a white polishing pad with the PwS, after priming the pad with just PwS, and it also removed the swirls, light scratches, but came off much easier than the dampened pad.
The shine, slickness and clarity on all the panels was quite impressive considering only an hour and a half was spent doing the sides and the hood of a large truck. Here`s a few pictures:
