Re: PwS V3 some more info and pics

Just a comment about the PC and cutting pads.
    1. Many people use the cutting pad/PC combination with good results.

    2. Many people have had problems with the cutting pad/PC combination.

    3. Almost all the problems with marring I remember reading about involved the use of a cutting pad. Something to think about??

    4. It has not been a problem for me to prep my vehicles pretty well without owning a cutting pad. Any major flaws just take a little/lot longer with a polishing pad

    5. IMO, It is also important to use products that the manufacturer says are for use with a DA. PwS would be one, so that`s not your problem here.

    6. Keep in mind, you don`t "remove" a scratch. you lower the level of the paint around it. In other words, you "remove" some of your paint. Not necessarily a bad thing, but something to keep in mind.

How PwS V3 gave Nourah her groove back . . .

After driving the rental CR-V for a month, I decided this afternoon that I could not stand the swirls, hazing, marring & water spots any longer. I decided to give the PwS a try with the Edge 2K Orange (Light Cut) pad to see what improvement I could make before my knee & shoulder told me to stop.

    First a few befores . . .

The paint felt like sand paper & when wiped with a micro fiber, you could hear it catching on the fibers, so claying was definitely needed. I used lots of PB`s S & W as lube, and an old clay bar that I had set aside for wheels. It is now so full of contaminants that it is in the trash!!

Then I hit it with the PwS on the orange pad, spread at 2 & bumped up to 5. I made lots of slow passes with moderate to heavy pressure. When I checked the hood, I couldn`t believe the improvement. I had planned to step down to a polishing pad, but I was so pleased with these results that I listened to my knee & shoulder & called it a day.

Thanks, Steve, I think you`ve got a winner here!!

I just did the same combo today (orange pad + PC) on my girlfriends red Corolla. She said the paint hasn`t ever been that smooth. The removal of swirls is really good but I really like how you can polish an area out and then move right onto the next panel without wiping. Saves a bunch of time.

Re: PwS V3 some more info and pics

I had an opportunity to try the PwS sample I got from the Christmas specials. I used it on a dark metallic grey Tahoe. Overall, I was quiet pleased. The Tahoe hadn`t been washed, certainly not detail in over a year. PwS did a good job of removing micro-marring and very fine scratches. I couldn`t get the cob-webbing and little thicker scratches out. I used a LC Orange pad. I was also quiet pleased with the little to no dusting that occurred. I also found the PwS to be very helpful in cleaning up the chrome trim and even cleaned up the black plastic trim around the SUV. Oh yeah, and it worked great on cleaning up the rims as well.
I used XMT conditioner to prep the pad throughout the polishing process, not sure yet if that worked for or against the polish.

Thanks, they`ll recognize it if they look at the roof

I`m hoping not to have time to give it a long term test in the AZ sun - but I`m glad that I had the time to play with it yesterday

I can`t wait to try the product. Does it fill the imperfections or it has some abrassives?

Re: PwS V3 some more info and pics

From my experiences, nope and nope.

On my Tacoma I used it by hand and by PC with a polishing pad and the very few swirls were still present. See below:
    http://www.detailcity.org/forums/poo...ut-thread.html
Even though the swirls were still there, it cleaned and sealed the paint.

Now used with a cutting pad and PC, it will begin to get rid of defects.

Because it is a non-abrasive product you`ll need to bump up the cutting ability of your machine or pads to remove swirls.

Ok, I understand the how-to. Then, it will be similar to ClearKote Vanilla Moose but without fillers.
    Thanks !!

I`m mobile detailer and simply love PwS!

I use it on about 75% of the vehicles I do. The cleaning ability blows me away.

Thank you PB for such a great product!
