    Fun with Propolish

We were starting to get things ready for halloween and the upcoming holidays, so I had the brass candle sticks which haven`t been done in a while. So with todays crummy weather I thought I would polish them up and I remember Steve said that ProPolish worked on metal as well so I thought I would give it a try.

    Afters:

I must say I am very happy with the results. Looks like I found another way to spend money on detailing supplies :-p

Did you get that amazing shine by hand or was there some mechanical help?

    Thanks for the comments,

Tubafeak, I did that by hand with an old terry wash cloth, to polish and remove most of the black residue, then I went over them with an inexpensive MF

Travis, I`m tempeted to go over them with some EX-P but I don`t know it that will prevent them from tarnishing.

I`m not sure if EX-P will prevent the brass from tarnishing, but it`s worth a shot. If you do, keep us posted though I hate polishing metalwork only to have it tarnish within a couple months.

I would have used Wheel Sealant but EX-P should slow down the oxidation process

Thanks Steve, maybe I`ll give it a try.
Of course you know my wife already thinks that I am crazy and this is not going to help my case of proving her wrong

Nice work! I`ve been thinking of putting some Natty`s Blue on top of my old wood computer desk. I`ll probably save that for a day in the dead of winter.

Jay it`s funny that you wrote this, as I used to carry some candle sticks with me to antique car show and demonstrate Professional Polish to clean them.
Many of the really old Antique Cars have a lot of Brass, Chrome, and some Stainless and these guys really liked an easy job....

There is a restaraunt in my neighborhood that has huge brass beer taps and they use only Pro Polish on them to shine and cut down on the fingerprints.

    Way to go Steve! :punk:
