pad for final polish with rotary

The forum is asking me to post anyway, and I`ve just dusted off an hour reading through topics, so here goes:

Dad purchased `07 S600. He brings it back to the office and we notice the paint feels rough (silver car, can`t see anything in it); and the windshield does to. Overspray over most of the drivers side, less so over passenger. Doesn`t look like it originated from this car though, maybe in a shop?

Here is my plan, please provide any direction:

    power spray at car wash
    two bucket wash at home
poor boys world clay bar (is it aggressive enough)
w/ PB APC as lube (think this was a post from Beemerboy)
wash and dry if clay gets it basically smooth
    wax remover
PB 2.0 (though I`m concerned this is too aggressive) w/ or w/o rotary*
    * - don`t know what pad to use Lake Country?
    PB or Griots paint sealant
    hand wax

Background. I`m an enthusiastic hobbyist at best. I`m quite comfortable with a rotary polisher. Don`t recall what model, but I have a big dewalt that reduces to about 1200RPM. Its mostly used for polishing wet-sanded clear coats on our work trucks (low-end in-house stuff). I am working towards improving the quality of the equipment/materials we use instead of what the local autoparts store has.

Most of the posts I read describe pads for the DA polishers, I don`t have one, buying is a possibility but would prefer to use existing equipment.

Would love to hear experienced thoughts.

I would recommend (by rotary) Lake Country`s Black/Gray CCS pads in the size you need.

Team that up with something like BLACKFIRE SRC Finishing Polish or Menzerna SF4500 for a super high-gloss, swirl-free finish.

Alright, the order has gone in. I hope I will have the patients to take pictures and document the process like so many here do so well. Still at least a month out though.
