    Smile *Makita/9227*

    Mornin` Guyz/
If you take a real good look at Makita`s OEM Cable construction,it`s a pretty cheap, constructed cable cord,IMOPO.*For what one pays for it/$$$...a Higher Quality Cord should be installed*.You can see the outer jacket get wrinkles in it,pretty easily.Looks to me,that the Insulation is not molded with the wires. But,I went to Home Depot, and bought an *Extension Power Cord,w/a Built-In Strain Relief and a Molded-on 3/Conductor Plug.I believe it`s approx. *9 Feet Long*.I think the Wires are *16/Gauge*,IIRC.They may have longer ones, also.
I do not do the kind of Detailing, some of you do,so I cannot say this is the *Premier Fix*.IMOPO,the Cable Cord I bought from HD,is *Superior* to the one Makita installs.
As the other poster stated,*do not wrap the cord around machine*.Just lightly coil it along side of the buffer,and/or as I do,use a *Releaseable Cable Tie* to keep the cord neat, and put it away,in my Makita Bag.
    Regards/
    Raymond

    Makita cord replacement

After buying a makita 9227c from a local pawn shop. I replaced the cord that had numerous repairs made by the previous owners. I chose a Utilitech brand extension cord that is made for extreme outdoor cold weather. It is extremely flexible and has worked out great with no problems. If in the future if my other da`s or rotaries are in need of a cord , this blue colored gem will be my go to cord.
