    It looks like you have the OLD Griot`s Garage 6 Inch polisher. The backing plate on that system was not interchangeable.

    yup, it`s at least 5 yrs old and still going strong...

    You can`t Change the backing plate on them and they don`t have near the power of the new ones, the PC/XP is quite a bit more powerful than the old griots.

    Heard good things about the machine. I have used them before and like the 3/16th stroke for final polishing and sanding.

    I prefer the Megs 5" backing plate on the GG6"

    For me it works better/cooler with the Megs DA microfiber cutting discs and still works great with Lake Country 5 1/2 Inch Flat Pads
