Question Basic or starter "pad kit"?

I always have friends asking what to get for a basic selection of pads without breaking the bank or having a bunch of pads that don`t get used. They see my stash and get a little overwhelmed and don`t want to get in that deep.

What pad colors and sizes what be good for first timers and novice PC users (most hand apply LSP)?

Are there any pads more `forgiving` for beginners?

I think Orange, White, and Black/Gray in the large (5.5" - 6") and small sizes (3.5" - 4") would work on most enthusiasts cars? CCS pads?

Assuming the polishes / products would be along the lines of 105/205, SIP/IP, Z-PC / Z-AIO.

Any ideas? I`d like to offer my friends (and some customers) a standard suggestion that covers most beginner requirements.

    Thanks,
    Randy

Your thoughts are correct. The orange and white pads are most used for beginners to correct and polish. A grey pad or two in 6.5 and 4 wouldn`t hurt either, but aren`t a necessity. Some detailers will tell you they like the 5" orange pads the best for cutting, but I only use 6.5 inchers and can`t really tell a difference in cut. I use the 4" for tighter spots.

I would go with these pads : Lake Country, CCS Technology, OEM, 5-1/4 inch Spot Buff Pads from CMA. They come in Orange , White and Black for your PC. A great combo that will work for you and your PC.
