New Harbor Freight DA: what Pads?

I have two early 2000`s VWs with lots of swirls and some minor rust. Some failed clear, too. I sanded, primed, painted and clear coated the worst rust. I`d like to smooth these out and polish.

What are some, reasonably priced 5.5 inch pads I can use with a HF da buffer? Orange and white? How many of each do I need?

I have 3M Advanced Compound, 3M Glaze and some Maguiar`s no. 26 yellow wax. Would these work? If not, what should I try?

    Thank you very much.

You`ll need at least some cutting pads and some polishing pads. Three of each is a good start. The compound you have might work OK. You`ll need a polish as well. I like the Meguiars line as you can get them from most auto parts stores or Amazon. M26 will be fine for the LSP.

Try lake country pads. They are really good and reasonably priced. You can also try the Uro Fiber pads. I have had great results with them.
