Just got my Blues in this week. Have used the Gray (next step down) with UHS and was very impressed.

They soften considerably when the get warm. Actually felt very soft when washing with hot water.

I have all the rupes pads. The blue foam i still have yet to use.

Glad to hear about the uhs though too. Still yet to try my uhs system.

I used the blue mf cutting disc which is more aggressive and w the blue rupes compound it was very effective.
The foam is a step lower in cut i believe.

the green softens up a lot after use. Id expect the same from the blue foam

The blue pads are by far my favorite. They cut and finish extremely well. My only complaint is when they start to degrade they can start shredding apart.

That kind of scares me because my green ones shred all over the place

That is partially the reason why I haven`t swapped everything over the full Rupes line. I love the polishes and pads, but I don`t want to be wasting money because the pads wear out. I still try to use the Lake Country Hd`s when I can because they can take a lot of abuse.

Same, I really try an sub in microfiber for cutting as much as possible. I love foam but it does get expensive, that said it is easier to clean then MF.

As far as being worried, the only pads you should never touch are denim, velvet and maybe some surbuf`s other wise any Rupes pad is fine. Always judge the cut by starting with the lightest cut then go down from there. You can always take away material, you cannot add.

My only complaint with the blue pad is the large size of the holes or cells; it seems to cause the compound to dry very quickly resulting in massive dusting. Be prepared to use a lot of compound to prime.

I never prime any of my Rupes pads. 3 drops, spread around speed 4, and crank up the speed and polish.
