    And if I don`t IPA the Polish ?

    So I`m working on a re-painted 1970 442. I used M105 w/wool and now I`m polishing w/ M205 and a B&S Blue on a Flex 3401.

    The 442 has some issues - a few paint cracks, road rash, but overall it`s in great shape. It`s going to a car show so I had planned on using 3M hand glaze. Then the thought occurred to me, "Me, what`s the harm in skipping the final IPA/Eraser step"

    Well, I didn`t have an answer.

    Is there any downside other than filling?

    IPA is to remove the polishing oils and residue that could be left on the surface that would interfere with your LSPs ability to bond to the paint.so if you want maximum durability and a smoother cleaner look, don`t skip the IPA wipedown

    Thanks Shane.

    Not looking for durability as much as `Pop`. The 442 just has to look good for a few hours.

    That`s why I`m going to try 3M Glaze - which is a bear to apply - and probably top with Pinnacle thinking the glaze contains a majority (?) of oils anyway.
