Suddenly the duetto seems a little more worth the huge price tag. Although I`d still like to see a comparison to the bigger rupes for just a few bucks more.

Thanks for the great writeup yet again!

[QUOTE=radarryan;496415]Just goes to show you, the size of the motor isn`t everything.

It does when you compare the Mini to the GG3.

So what you`re telling me is in really need to purchase a Duetto. HAHAHA Just like a figured I would. Now just save up some funds.

Great job Todd. Another awesome write up. I`m still considering a Flex though, Flex or Duetto thats my dilemma.

Todd, let`s take LC orange pads, same paint, same polish. Do you think the 3401 would out cut the Duetto? Just an educated guess would suffice.

Re: Rupes vs. Griots Showdown - Rupes Duetto and Mini vs. Griot`s 6 and 3 inch polishers

Thanks for sharing Todd I`m thinking about picking up the mini Rupes. I`m waiting for my friend to receives his so I can test it out and make my own conclusion. I`m interesting in seeing the throw in person to see if it is good for smaller spaces. My GG3 has become a wax applicator. It can`t really correct. I use smaller 3" pads on my GG6 but the head of the machine is bulky & the smallest pad I can put on the Flex is 4". I was hoping the mini would be priced a bit less, more $200-$250 ish but if it makes paint correction easier its worth it and will pay itself off quickly. I just feel it might be too many polishers to own because i know my 2 GG will just sit if I get the Rupes.

I think the biggest issue with the mini rupes is the fact its not that mini. The body looks almost as big as the GG6".
Todd can we get a comparison shot with those 2 next to each other and a Griots with a 2.75" backing plat. The head on it might not make it fit into any smaller areas the GG6 could.

If you were looking for a purpose-built spot-buffing polisher you used to only have one choice. The Griot`s 3-inch... until now. The Rupes Mini Polisher is loaded with the features you would expect in their "BigFoot" line, but has been balanced and designed to work with 3-inch polishing pads.

It doesn`t look that much bigger. I might have overlooked something when reading but why is it called the 75E? What are the speed settings on the mini? Is it 1-6, can you put it on 6 without generating too much heat on the pad? I put a 3" on my GG6 speed 4 and it tore it up with slight pressure.

Its bigger then the Griots 3" I am curious to see just how much smaller it is then the GG6 with a 2.75" BP

I know this isn`t what you are looking for, but here is the Duetto vs. GG6". As you can see, the Duetto and Mini (same bodies) are inbetween the GG6" and GG3".

I will take the picture you want, but I am working from home, so it will have to wait until next week.
