    Re: The Ultimate Glaze Showdown

Thanks Pat! That`s what I was looking for. I have CG EZ Cream Glaze and some old Vertua Bond - both need to get used up. But, Amigo is in the shopping cart now. I hope this will be the start of more details like this. I think I have paid my dues on craptastic cars, work trucks and barf - minivans....

    Re: The Ultimate Glaze Showdown

Despite Poorboy`s product fairing excellently in this showdown, the bottle of White Diamond I purchased isn`t getting used. Not that it`s a bad product, it just turned out that glazes are not suited for me and my ungaraged DD. I think there`s about 90% left. I would be happy to trade for some quality shampoo if anyone`s interested.

Awesome Review! I take it PB BH is alright to use on charcoal paint colors as well? Also, will it help with the holograming that the goons at the Lexus dealer put on my paint?

    Thanks!

Glazes do have an important role when situations call for addition rather than subtraction.

Thin clear coat, just before a car show, or just wanting that extra something that glazed cars have.

Yes and yes.. Although it`s impact on the holograms will be temporary.

    Re: The Ultimate Glaze Showdown

Years ago back during the infamous Carter administration, I sanded cars after school in a neighbor`s autobody shop. I`ll never forget that Pink Glaze they used after the wool pad and rocks in the bottle compound. That stuff smelled like cat pee, but it would cover up a meteor strike!

Was it 3M Pink Fill N` Glaze? That was what I "cut my teeth" on in highschool as well.

Obsessive Detail Wet Shine Glaze is also a very nice glaze.

Yes it was 3m fill n glaze, the pink stuff, came in a metal can, about a half gallon I think. Those were the days!
Hey, tried Amigo today on a 2014 Silverado, black, 4x4 and the owners son`s black Roush Mustang, both were had a few waterspots and paint was a little dull. Amigo took care of all issues! I am a happy man!

Very impressive comparison. As we all know there is a lot of personal choice or preference for products that oft go beyond tests like this. But you did an excellent job at laying out solid pros and cons. Personally, I am not surprised that Poorboy`s World got the highest marks

Would a glaze work over a coating? Just wondering if it could be used to give a coating some extra pop for special occasions.

A glaze will work over a coating...but the coating`s properties are all but eliminated. For a car show or a short term "high"...go for it.

^ Thanks. I imagine the glaze will pretty much come off at the next washing, but might be a nice look for a few days.

    Re: The Ultimate Glaze Showdown

As a new member, it was cool to see this thread bumped up to my "new posts" list. I just finished my spring cruise/show prep on my "survivor" El Camino. After a couple hand rubs and overnight soaks with Meg`s #7 and a machine polish with Meg`s #80 it always can use just one more step before application of an LSP. I had been using 3M foam pad glaze, or Meg`s #3, but was always open for trying something new. Black Hole did a great job. Easy to use by either hand or machine with nice clarity of gloss. After 20+ years of rotary/wool pad polishing, the paint is so dangerously thin that maximum results with minimum abrasives is a welcome quality.
    Thanks for the review!

    Bill
